* National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje has said it is political dislocation for Anambra State to continue to remain in All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), instead of connecting to the centre.
Ganduje who was at Nnewi for a colloquium organized by Southeast chapter of APC said the marginalization of South East is rather as a result of miscalculations by the people of the South East. He said such miscalculations has kept Anambra State in political dislocation, and that it would continue to be so until the state dumps All APGA.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Mr. ThankGod Anagor has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for awarding, completing and inaugurating for use the twenty-six-point four-kilometre Amansea- Ezinator-Ndiukwuenu-Okpeze-Awa- Ufuma Road. Mr. Anagor who expressed profound gratitude to Governor Soludo’s visionary governance emphasized the transformative impact of the road project, which he said will enhance connectivity and stimulate socio-economic development across the area.

* Mr. Chukwudi Emmanuel Chiketa has emerge as the new Anambra State Fire Service Chief. Performing the symbolic handover to his successor recently, Engr. Agbili expressed optimism that Chiketa would perform much better than he did as the new Head of the Agency. Agbili called on ndị Anambra to give his successor maximum support to excel and perform beyond expectation, while he himself moves over to his new responsibility as Permanent Secretary.

* The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has commissioned the Agodi-Gate, Civic Centre and Idi-Ape Improvement Works.
Soludo performed the function as the special guest of honour in Ibadan, Oyo State, during an event where a circular road infrastructure, totalling 32.2 kilometres was also flagged-off. Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Soludo commended the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for what he described as developmental giant strides, noting that the Oyo State Governor is living out the true essence of governance, which must always be about the greater good of the people.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his policies that is reshaping the governance system of the state. The commissioner said Soludo’s policies is turning around the state’s budget system and economic fortunes, paving the way for a prosperous and livable Anambra State. Addressing newsmen in Awka, the State Capital, Nnake also scored the governor high on infrastructural and human capital development within his two years in office.

* National Water Resources Capacity Building Network Centre, in collaboration with the Borehole Drillers Association of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter has marked the 2024 World Water Day with the inauguration of a borehole project at Igwebudu Primary School Urum. The event which took place at the school in Awka North Local Government Area attracted community stakeholders, students and management of the school.
inaugurating the project, the Director, National Water Resources Capacity Building Network South-East Zone Professor Emma Ezenwaji said that the celebration aims to highlight the benefits of water management as a conduit for peace, showcasing effective mechanisms and tools to enhance cooperation and prevent water-related disputes.

* Awka, Anambra State has become the Southeast Zonal headquarters of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission, an agency established by the Federal Government in April, 2021, as the regulatory and intervention body for the senior secondary education sub-sector of the Nigerian education system. The Executive Secretary of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission, Dr Iyela Ajayi disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim at the Government House Awka.

Ajayi who revealed that before the establishment of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission, it was only the Senior Secondary education segment of the Nigerian education system that was left without a regulatory and intervention agency in spite of the fact that it is the bridge between basic education and tertiary education, which according to him has made senior secondary education segment suffer neglect for many years.

* No fewer than 10 persons have died in the crisis rocking the tractional stool of Azia in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. One of the contenders of the community’s traditional stool, Chief Felix Ifeanyimuo disclosed this in an interview. Claiming that he was the rightful monarch of the community, Ifeanyimuo said no fewer than 10 persons had died mysteriously since the conflict about the stool began. He said many people ganging up against him over the stool were getting the repercussions.

* Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, says the present administration is very deliberate in achieving the most effective education policies in the country. Mrs. Soludo was reacting to the latest data released by The CableIndex, a data, policy and research arm of The Cable Nigeria, which ranked Anambra as the state with lowest number of out-of-school children in Nigeria, from ages six to fifteen. In the released data, Anambra State picked up two-point nine percent among the thirty-six states and Federal Capital Territory to emerge the state with the highest number of children in classrooms in Nigeria.

* The doubts and fears about the conjectures surrounding the consumption of meat has been dispelled as Prof. Cordelia Ifeyinwa Ebenebe in her research and findings affirms that all meat types contain nine essential amino acids needed by the human body. Delivering the 99th Inaugural Lecture of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka at the University Auditorium, Prof. Ebenebe emphasized that meat is essential for human growth and development, stressing that research evidence confirms that only processed meats could be linked with issues of diseases, while unprocessed meat consumption is not linked to heart disease.
