2023: Anambra Reps Candidate Says BVAS Will End Election Rigging

Youths should get into politics because politics affects everything we do in life.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Awka North and South federal constituency, Chief Emeka Vincent Igwe says

the introduction of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) an electronic device designed to read Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and authenticate voters will end election rigging in Nigeria.

Chief Igwe in an interview at the Anambra talent show season 2 held in Awka encourage voters to vote stating that there votes will count.

According to Igwe” BVAS is a great technology. It’s digital and electronic. The voters have been given the opportunity to vote and it will count. It’s not like the manual type of voting. Once accreditation is done, the total vote cast will be judged based on the total number of accreditation that was done and not the total registered voters.

Chief Igwe urged voters to vote the right persons to power and not party. “I believe that the right people should be put in leadership. Only when the right people get into authority, that things will change.

“Legislators does three things which are to make laws, represent the constituents and act as the mediator between government and the people which is to supervise the actions of government (Oversight functions) and also atracting good projects which is what I intend to do.

“I intend to attract good projects in agriculture, infrastructure, health and empowerment, entertenment and sports. I also intend to make good laws that will benefit my constituents because my primary assignment is to my constituents.

Chief Igwe however regretted over lack of job opportunity facing the youths especially graduates. He advocated that more policies should be done in favour of the youths.

“When youths are engaged, they won’t have time for crime. The youths should hold politicians and office holders accountable. They should stand up for there rights.

“Youths should get into politics because politics affects everything we do in life. Getting involved in politics shouldn’t be only during election. Start from your wards. Igwe adviced
