The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Dunukofia Njikoka and Anaocha (DNA) Federal constituency Hon. Lawrence Ezeudo has congratulated Chief George Ozodinobi of the Labour Party (LP) for a resounding victory at the just concluded general election, wishing him a successful legislative term.
Ozodinobi Defeated Hon. Pete Ibida (APGA), Prince Dr. Emeka Eze (PDP), Hon. Lawrence Ezeudo (APC), Hon. Barr. Valentine Ayika (ZLP), Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeokonkwo (YPP) and Sir Onyebuchi Impala (ADC) to emerge winner.
Ezeudo in a letter of appreciation after the electoral process expressed appreciate to APC, his campaign team and teeming supporters.
“The National Assembly Election has come and gone, just like in any other contest, a winner has emerged. I have tasted winning and losing but I give thanks to God in all things.
“First and foremost, I want to show my unreserved gratitude to God Almighty for all his love and grace throughout this electioneering campaign, from the beginning to the very end.
“I set out hoping to win the way I have always won in everything I set my eyes on since I was a kid. Time doesn’t change a person, it simply helps you get a handle on who you are, even at my age I still hate losing. I am just more gracious about it. I am also aware that setbacks have an upside to fuel new dreams.
“I want to thank major stakeholders for all their immeasurable support throughout this period, the likes of Chief Paul Chukwuma (Onwa Umueri), Pastor Ben Akabueze (DG Budget Office Nigeria), Chief Clement Okekeofia (Tokas-Pal Polish), Chief Innocent Okoye (Chikason), Chief. Mark Okoye Jnr. (Ebubedike Ifitedunu), Amb. Elijah Onyeagba, PhD. (Nigeria Ambassador to Burundi), Mr. Chukwujekwu Nwankwo (Jemaro) to name but a few.
“To the members of my campaign team, party faithful, support groups and the brilliant students of the School of Pharmacy, Agulu, I say thank you.
“I equally thank the royal fathers, President-Generals and Women leaders of town union in Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha Federal Constituency, church leaders and all great men, women, including different youth groups for their great support in this journey.
“I can’t thank my beloved family enough, friends and well wishers across party lines for being there for me at all times.
“The recent election gave me the opportunity to move around making new friends and alliances, testing betrayals, enjoyed the beauty of seeing lovely people, experiencing twist of different cultures and working round the clock 24 plus one hour a day, building my inner strength.
“My summons throughout my campaign was very clear, that the people choose a leader who will invest in building bridges not walls, books not weapons, morality not corruption, intellectualism and wisdom not ignorance, stability not fear and reign of terror, peace not chaos, love not hatred, convergence not segregation, tolerance not discrimination, fairness not hypocrisy, substance not superficiality, character not immaturity, transparency not secrecy, Justice not lawlessness, truth not lies, competence not ignorance, rationalism not sentiment.
“I also want to thank ndị Dunukofia for giving me the opportunity to serve and prove my worth by breaking the glass ceiling as the first principal officer in our great constituency. All the six communities enjoyed the dividends of democracy, which will outlive my representation.
“I am looking forward that some of my positive legacies will be continued by the next son of Dunukofia in the 8th Assembly.
“For those that were touched positively during my time of representation, I thank God, for others that were not touched, I wish to plead with you that government is a continuum and the next person will do even better.
“I wish to thank my fellow contestants immensely for showing maturity throughout the contest and also extend my appreciation to all their supporters across party lines. The Federal Constituency has spoken and a winner has emerged. Who can question God?
“To my personal team and ‘cabal’ across party lines, I say a big thank you. One love. God bless the great DNA Federal Constituency!”
