The Anambra State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu on Tuesday August 26th 2025, toured some strategic developmental projects being executed by the Governor Chukwuma Soludo across the state.
Some of the project sites visited include the Amawbia/Uga Dual-Carriage Road; the Ekwulobia Flyover, Solution Park and Market; the Solution Fun-City and the Anambra State Government House and Lodge (the Light House), in Awka.
The inspection by the members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm, was embarked on as part of the expository activities lined up for the 2025 Press Week.
Speaking during the tour, NUJ National Secretary Comrade Achike Achude,
commended the Anambra State Council of the union, describing the tour as a demonstration of unity, professionalism and readiness to partner with government in amplifying developmental achievements.
On his part, Anambra NUJ Chairman, Dr. Odogwu, who lauded the projects as transformative, stressed that Governor Chukwuma Soludo has distinguished himself among his counterparts through visible achievements within a short period in office, and called on ndi Anambra to continue supporting policies and programs that promote sustainable development.
Dr. Odogwu noted that contrary to claims in some quarters, the projects are not only real but also stand as evidence of ongoing efforts by the state government to deliver on its promises.
Also lending their voices, Veteran journalist, Sir. Chuka Nnabuife and an ex-officio of the council, Comrade Ebele Ezeh, applauded Governor Soludo’s bold strides, noting that his developmental initiatives have not only impacted Ndi Anambra positively, but also projected the state on the global map.
At the Solution Fun City facility, the CEO, Managing Director, Mr. Mohamed Farrag, led the visiting journalists on a guided tour of its various sections. He emphasized that beyond aesthetics, deliberate measures have been put in place to ensure safety, comfort, and a memorable leisure experience for visitors.
According to Farrag, the project was carefully designed to meet international standards, thereby positioning Anambra as a tourism-friendly state.
The MD added that with effective security architecture and modern amenities, Solution Fun City has the potential to attract both local and international visitors, thereby boosting revenue generation for the state.
