3MTT Networking Meetup engages Anambra tech youths in Awka

Youths of Anambra state with tech skills have been engaged in a Networking Meetup as part of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative of the Federal Government to empower Nigerian youths with tech skills.

Held at IDK Learning Centre Awka, the event was graced by distinguished guests, including the 3MTT Community Manager for Anambra State, Somto Akujuruobi, who expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his Renewed Hope Agenda and to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his efforts in making Anambra a digital tribe.

Akujuruobi lauded the Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, for spearheading the 3MTT initiative, along with IHS Tower and NITDA for their significant support in fostering the initiative’s goals in Nigeria.

The spiritual father of the day, Bishop Alex Okedo, emphasized the importance of integrity in the tech industry, setting the tone for a day filled with interactive discussions and reflections.

The keynote speaker, MD/CEO of Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata represented by Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on MDAs Support, Mr Castro Ideke, challenged Anambra youths to harness the transformative power of technology and ensure continuous learning and adaptability in the dynamic field of tech in order to propel Anambra to new heights.

While describing himself as a fellow sojourner on the road to realizing the immense potential and world of possibilities within the digital landscape, Mr Agbata asked the trainees to seize a web of opportunities to navigate its space and impact billions of lives with transformative ideas and strategic innovation.

“To all of us here today aspiring for the heights in the world of Technology — yes, the path will not be easy, but I can assure you that it will be worth it. Have a change of heart towards challenges; embrace them as opportunities to grow. Seek knowledge relentlessly. And above all, believe in your ability to make a difference.

“In conclusion, let’s not just build careers; let’s build legacies. Let’s not just follow trends; let’s set them. The future is not just happening; it is ours to create.”, he concluded.

Other speakers like Favour Emelie, CEO Business Yield Consult identified continuous learning, skill development, teamwork and collaboration as key to a successful career in tech.

On his part, Emmanuel Akudolu, IT Consultant ValueCore Consulting called for Personal branding, self awareness and mental disposition to achieve their career in tech.

“Skill don’t make you rich but mental disposition do. On self awareness, share identical pictures of yours across all your social media handles.

“Post your picture with prominent persons you took pictures with because online audience tends build authenticity with you on it and selling your products or attracting clientelle will be easier”.

Attendees were inspired by success stories shared by members of the 3MTT community, including Oghene Kome, a success story from cohort one, who emphasized the importance of goal-setting and continuous learning in achieving success.

Another beneficiary from cohort one highlighted the significance of collaboration and mentorship in navigating the tech industry, as the event concluded with a sense of optimism and anticipation for future collaborations and shared successes.###
