50 Traders Graduate From Hero Apprenticeship Scheme In Anambra

Ogbaru Main Market popularly known as Relief Market, near Onitsha, Anambra State was agoge as no fewer than 50 traders graduated from Hero  apprenticeship scheme.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the lucky students successfully completed work shop training anchored by Professors from Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka with Onitsha Business School and purely sponsored by International Breweries Plc  producers of Hero lager beer.

Presenting her address, the program coordinator and former Head of Department (HOD) Entrepreneurship studies Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Clementina Agbionu noted that she was impressed with the way the Commissioner for Youth and Development has used Hero apprenticeship scheme to empower so many youths in the state.

She commended the students for their dedication and being conscious of time during their workshop trainings, stating that they demonstrated spirit of entrepreneurship, urging them to remain focus and wished them success in their future endeavors.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth and Development, Hon. Patrick Aghadinuno Mba stated that International Breweries Plc has done a lot in youth enterprise development, saying that he is proud of its exploits.

He however disclosed that apprenticeship development forms part of the key goals which he said Governor Soludo is advancing the apprenticeship system not just by adopting but by developing the needed legal frameworks for regulations and development.

Appreciating the organizers of the apprenticeship scheme, the President-General of Ogbaru Main Market, Chief Patrick Ndubuisi Ochiogu represented by the assistant Secretary of the Market, Chief Bucknor Agu rained encomium on International Breweries Plc for granting traders in his market the opportunity to participate in the apprenticeship scheme.

He specifically eulogized the Department of Management Sciences Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Onitsha Business School amongst other critical stakeholders, stating that he was delighted that traders from his Market were the highest beneficiaries of the scheme.

Speaking on behalf of the students, the class representative and former Care-taker President-General of the Market, Chief David Obidike expressed gratitude to Professors from Department of Management Sciences Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Director of Onitsha Business School, Prof. Olusegun Sogbesan, International Breweries Plc, Commissioner for Industry, Christian Udechukwu, Commissioner for youth and Development, Hon. Patrick Aghamba and those who contributed to the success during their work shop training.

High points of the ceremony included; presentation of certificate to the graduands by Prof. Ike Odimegwu of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and closing prayer/ motivational speech by Prof. Stella Okuna.

Meanwhile, the graduands however returned to their Market where they staged reception with their President-General, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu and other traders.

Ochiogu who expressed his gratitude to Governor Soludo for his innovations in the state  commended the students for their doggedness throughout their training workshop and wished them success in their respective endeavors.
