The Governor of Imo State and chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Anambra State Governorship Election Campaign Council, Senator Hope Uzodinma has declared that the APC and its candidate, Senator Andy Ubah hold the ace in the November 6 gubernatorial poll.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration of the council on Tuesday at the party’s National Secretariat, Abuja, Uzodinma said APC remains the party to beat nationally and in Anambra, noting that in reality, there is no other viable political party today in the country that has the capacity to secure the future of Nigerians.
He said that it is for that reason high profile opposition personalities and trouping in droves to the ruling party.
“If you look at Nigeria today, you will know that the party to beat is APC because APC has been able to demonstrate amidst global crisis; an economic and political crisis that we have the capacity to secure the future of the country and that they have done by coming out strongly to combat the hostility occasioned by the Boko Haram activities, the issue of banditry, issue of food insecurity, social interventions.
“This government has done a lot and that is the party to beat. Look around, is there any political party remaining? The only party that is healthy, united today in Nigeria is APC. So why will you not join a ruling party to be part of the Nigerian projects?
He stressed the commitment of the men of the campaign Council to comb the nooks and crannies of Anambra State and help the electorates see the inherent advantages to belong to the ruling party.
Also Speaking, Senator Andy Ubah, candidate of the APC said the inauguration mark the restoration of Anambra State, adding that the calibre of people in the APC Governorship Campaign Council signposts the seriousness of the project to take Anambra.
He expressed the desire to quickly meet with aggrieved fellow contestants during the primary and enlist their support, adding that from all indications, the election is already won.
“Anambra State from today will be a different State for hearing and seeing the people that have been here will tell you that we have already won Anambra State.
“We are going to do our work, go through all the local governments and wards to make sure that meet the people, and secondly we will bring those that contested with me, we will go and plead with them to come and work with me. It will be one victory for everybody.”.
