* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been commended for initiating reformation of land administration in Anambra state. Speaking in Awka, the Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene said this will sanitize and check abuses in land acquisition processes and use over the years, noting that the Governor’s warning that government officials involved in issuing fake land and building approvals will be prosecuted will check certain excesses that have brought concerns in land issues over the years as well as protect genuine land owners from harassment, exploitation and fraud.
* Anambra state government on Thursday June 15 2023 flagged off 2023 farming season at Dr. Alex Ekwueme squre, Awka. Speaking at the event, Anambra Deputy Governor Dr. Onyeka Ibezim in his address stated that agriculture is a very strong piller and part of the agenda of the state. Ibezim who represented Soludo reiterate that the present administration is in love with agriculture
* Njikoka Local Government Area Transition Committee Chairman, Honourable Clem Aguiyi, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his Agricultural revolution which he said is capable of lifting thousands of people out of poverty. Aguiyi made the statement while addressing Councilors and stakeholders during the flag-off of the distribution of nine thousand Coconuts and twenty-seven thousand Oil Palm Seedlings, across the six communities in the council area.
* The ever-busy Fegge Community in Onitsha South Council Area, stood still as the Dean, Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Ali Buba Lamido, the Bishop on the Niger, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo, visiting bishops, the clergy, and delegates convoy arrived St. John’s Anglican Church, Fegge, Onitsha South Archdeaconry for the Second Session of the 32nd Synod, of Diocese on the Niger, with theme, “Feed My Lambs”. The Boys and Girls Brigade of the Diocese, saluted the bishops in a special presentation at the Bishop’s Court Onitsha.
* Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has restated the commitment of the Prof Chukwuma Soludo led administration towards providing adequate security of life and property for Ndi Anambra, as well as putting an end to flood menace in the state. Dr Ibezim stated this at the Government House, Awka, during a meeting with partners of the state government in health and emergency related issues, and stakeholders in flood prone areas in the state.
* Several ex internationals and other football stakeholders have thrown their weight behind the Anambra All Stars game billed for June 25 at the Awka City Stadium. Topping the list of ex internationals who have endorsed the game is the legendary Kanu Nwankwo who was full of praise for Anambra FA chairman Chikelue Iloenyosi.
* The former member who represented Nnewi North Constituency at 7th Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor says he is among the top three lawmakers in the 7th Assembly that sponsored the highest number of motions. Okafor recently revealed his achievements in four years as a lawmaker while giving account of his stewardship to his constituents.
* Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, its Information counterpart and a partner have sensitized Awka residents against child labour. The sensitization, which took the team on a road walk from Arroma Junction to Eke Awka Roundabout, saw them share fliers on the dangers of child labour. Speaking to reporters, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, said that the road walk is to tell alert people on the dangers of enslaving any child under any circumstance.
* Wife of Governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo has expressed worry over growing negligence of basic healthy living habits in some families, urging parents to take the issues seriously, considering the dwindling standards of family health in most homes. ANN reports that Mrs Soludo made the call during an interface with newsmen in Awka, recently.
According to the governor’s wife, public health faces great risk if parents continue to pay less or no attention to the costly effects of unwholesome health lifestyle.
* Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, has officially inaugurated the 2022/2023 Career Day for primary school pupils across the state. The event, organized by the Guidance and Counseling Desk, Department of Academic Services ASUBEB Awka, took place at the utility hall, ASUBEB Headquarters Awka. The career day was meant for primary six pupils from different primary schools across the state, Guidance and Counseling Desk Officers from the twenty-one council areas of the state, Heads of sections of Academic Services in the twenty-one council areas, Counsellors, Para Counsellors and some selected teachers.
