The management, staff and students of Egbengwu Primary School Nimo on Wednesday July 19th held its 2023 inter-house sports competition and graduation ceremony for nursery three and basic six pupils.
ANN reports that the graduation ceremony commenced with mass celebrated by Egbengwu Primary School Manager, Rev. Fr. Callistus Nworgu.
Chairman of the ceremony Dr. Ifeanyi Obiefuna in his speech said the purpose of the occation is to encourage young ones to indulge in education .
Dr. Obiefuna commended the Manger of the school for the transformation witnessed and the success recorded.
” Fr. Nworgu has brought a lot of changes in Egbengwu Primary School. In his tenue, this school took first position in quiz competition at Owelle palace Nimo in 2022.
Head Mistress Egbengwu Primary School Nimo Mrs. Josephine Obinyeluaku in her address said graduation and inter house sports creats opportunity for stock taking, check and balances for school. It is the avenue to discover intelligent, physical, sports and social abilities of the pupils.
Speaking about the achievement of the school, Obinyeluaku said ” Our pupils performed very well both in internal and external examination. Our school took first position in quiz competition at Owelle palace Nimo in 2022 and was giving 250,000 naira.
‘Aroh Chinonso won 10,000 naira cash and a school bag during Nduka Foundation competition at ASUBEB Awka on July 4th 2023. We try to discipline our pupils.
” We are battling with certain challenges in the school like; lack of good seats and tables in various classes. We need good toilet. We need good chemical for treating termite. We need donors for sweater for the less privileged ones and payment of school fees no matter the little.
Egbengwu Primary School Manager, Rev. Fr. Callistus Nworgu in an exclusive interview with ANN while congratulating the students, urged them to be good ambassadors anywhere they find themselves. He called on the graduating student to be prayerful, couragous and focused.
Speaking about the challenges facing the school, Nworgu called on philanthropist to assist in transforming the school.
” Egbengwu Primary School needs to be re-painted. tiling of the grand floor. We need a condusive environment and a good atmospher where people can learn.
” We dont have the assembly floor where we can mount the flag of the school, the church and that of the country.
” With the increase in number of pupils, we need a sound system. Sometimes, we borrow from the church.
“The school needs security personal who would take care of the children. We need a mini canteen so that the number of pupils going out of the premises will reduce.
” We need more scholarship for those pupils whom their parents cannot pay their schools fees,” The priest said.
Mrs. Josephine Obinyeluaku in an interveiw with ANN outlined the chanllenges of the school such as Table amd seats, we need water system toilets. The toilets we have been using is a pit toilet which might be farmful to the health of the pupils and staffs of the school.
” Some of the pupils are less privileged who dont pay school fees, am appealing to philanthropist to intervene.
ANN presented gifts to Egbengwu Primary School Manager, the best graduating students of primary six, nursery session, best teacher, and retires of Egbengwu Primary School Nimo, Head Mistress of the school and winners of the inter house sports competition.
Egbengwu Primary School Nimo presented a “Cooperate Social Responsibility Award” to Angel Network News (ANN) for the selfless service and support to the school.
The Manger ANN, Dr. Ifeanyi Obiefuna while apprecating the management of the school for the award, dedicated it to Ndi Egbengwu.
