Anambra State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) on Saturday July 29th in Awka, elected new Local Government Areas (LGA) Coordinators and their executive members.
Anambra State Chairman of NYCN, Comrade Obi Emeka Chukwudi, in his address charged the Coordinators to be good ambassadors to their various communities and council areas respectively.
Comrade Chukwudi, extolled the state Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for his giant strides in youth development especially, the ongoing “One Youth, Two Skills aquisition empowerment programme and urged the governor to continue on the youth-friendly policies of his administration while also building more on its achievements.
According to the Anambra State Chairman of NYCN, Governor Soludo-led administration has demonstrated a unique connection that offered hope to the youthful population in Anambra State with its friendly policy and inclusiveness.
“We are confident that the present administration will build more on that achievement to guarantee a more secure and productive environment suitable for the youths to involve more in the leadership of Anambra State and be well productive and profitable for those outside the government,” the Chairman added.
Speaking with reporters the Coordinator of Aguata Council Area, Comrade Ezekafor Mmaduabuchi David said his major reason for contesting is to contribute his quoter in developing Anambra state and the betterment of the Aguata youths local government.
According to Comrade Ezekafor ” The state chairman and the election committee
has done well in conductive a peceful congress. I want to thank the youths, elders and stackholders of the council in Aguata local government for their support during my campaign and consultations.
” Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is a youth friendly governor and the youths have been benefiting from his administration through the one youth two skills program and other policies and intervention.
Orumba South Coordinator, Comrade Uchenna Ejere in an interview said he was returned because of his past performance.
” I conducted ward congress with over two hundrend exco members. We also participated in the brainbox football competition. The election was peaceful with the presence of security personnel from the Department of Security Service (DSS), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Man ‘O war
Comrad Ejere describe Anambra State Chairman of NYCN, Comrade Obi Emeka Chukwudi as a peaceful leader who has been following the constitution of the council.
” Anambra state government has been supporting the council in numerious ways and has made sure that this election was successful.
Anambra West Coordinator, Comrade Okeke Iloegbunam Friday, Onitsha North coordinator Comrade Chuhwura Onyekachi and Ogbaru Coordinator Comrade Uzor Onyekachukwu Michael while speaking assured that they will utilised the opportunity given to them to ensure that the youth are involved more in Government policies and programmes.
“We are going to deliver on our campaign promises of uniting the youths, engaging them more on youths-oriented programmes to help curbed drug abuses, cultism and other related criminal activities in the State.
“We are appealing to the governor to provide more adequate opportunities for youths across the state to unleash their potential towards the development and advancement of Anambra.
We most sincerely thank the youths for handing us their mandate purely on trust. We will not fail you,” the Coordinators concluded.
ANN reports that the newly elected officials are expected to pilot affairs of the NYCN in their various council areas for the next four years.
However, Oyi and Idemili South LGA’s election was step down duo to some reasons.
