* The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Pharm. Chisom Uchem has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for providing the agency with digital work tools. Speaking in Awka, Pharmacist Uchem who said that the work tools include laptop computers and printers, thanked the Governor for his thoughtfulness in providing the equipment as it will go a long way in making them more effective, efficient and productive.
* Anambra State House of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the MD/CEO of Anambra State Erosion, Watershed and Climate Change Agency (ANSEWCCA) to as a matter of urgency compile a comprehensive list of all active erosion sites in the state and cause its submission to the senate ad-hoc committee constituted for erosion matters for federal government intervention. Chief sponsor of the motion Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke in his submissions revealed that the Senate on the 6th day of July, 2023 constituted an ad-hoc committee to access all erosion sites in Anambra and other States of the Federation and publish same for possible inclusion in the 2024 national budget.
* The Transition Committee chairman of Oyi Local Government Area, Mr. Emmanuel Nweke has called for proper monitoring and nurturing of the palm and coconut seedlings planted in all parts of the state so that the efforts of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in acquiring them will not be in vain. Mr. Nweke while speaking in Nteje said acquiring the seedlings cost the government a lot and it will be good if Ndi Anambra who benefited from it take adequate care of the plants.
* Commissioner of Police Anambra State CP Aderemi Adeoye has paid a Surprise Visit to ‘B’ Divisional Police Headquarters. Awka. He commended the Officers’ dedication to duty and tasked them to Improve surveillance and operational positioning to enhance security safety within Awka, the state capital.
* Anambra State Committee on Clean and Green Awka has organised a road show to sensitize residents and traders on proper waste disposal.
The exercise tagged “Dobe Awka OCHA” commenced from Amaenyi market to Eke Awka and Amawbia. Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim while addressing residents and traders at Eke roundabout, warned that the Soludo administration will no longer tolerate indiscriminate dumping of refuse at the market and environs, warning that ACTDA officials have been empowered to activate enforcement.
* The African Director, International Association of World Peace Advocates, IAWPA, Ambassador John Chukwudi Metchie, has expressed profound gratitude to Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo for the reappointment of Dr. Anslem Onuorah as Chairman of Anambra-East Local Government Area. A woman activist from Nanka in Orumba North Local government area Lady Peace Ezechukwu who gave the charge in an interview blamed the negative behavior of the children on lack of good parental upbringing.
* Karen James, a journalist investigating the Anambra state education sector, has become the latest target of shadowy assassins sent to silence her. Karen James alleges that she has been the target of individuals reportedly sent after her, who seek to silence her as she remained defiant in halting the investigation. Karen has also wrote to the police and to the Anambra state house of assembly informing of threat to her life, assult and obstruction of justice.
* As the finals of the novel Anambra All Stars Competition approches with one day to go, the coach of one of the finalists, Noble All Stars FC Onitsha, Benjamin Chukwudi says that the trophy belongs to his team.The coach while speaking in an interview said his team is working hard to ensure that their supporters will not be disappointed. Coach Ododo described his team’s qualifications to the finals as an act of God believed that the trophy will be a compensation for their hard work.
* Traders at Building Materials International Market, Ogidi have commended the Anambra State House of Assembly on their appeal to the State government to construct Ogidi High Court Road which passes through the market to Enugu/Onitsha Express Road. The traders who spoke through their President General, Chief Jude Nwankwo while reacting on the recent resolution by the State Assembly after a motion sponsored by the member representing Idemili North council area, Honourable Kingsley Udemezue, described the motion as timely and all important that if hearkened to will catapult the economy of the area and the state in general.
