* The Anambra State Association of Town Union, ASATU, has passed a vote of confidence on the state Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony-collins Nwabunwanne. The vote of confidence followed call for the sack of the Commissioner by an APGA Chieftain and community leader in Ifitedunu, Dunukofia local government area, Chief Vincent Udobi, who alleged that reinstating and recognizing Mr. Uchenna Nwoye as the President General of the community caused about seventy percent of the problem in therein, which he said Governor Chukwuma Soludo may be not well-informed about.

* The member representing Anambra East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Obi Nweke has called on the Federal Government to find a permanent solution to the increasing flooding that is causing havoc across the country every year. Hon. Nweke who is the chairman Anambra 8th assembly committee on petition while speaking to newsmen said that the amount of damage the perennial deluge has caused for couple of years now cannot be quantified and asked the federal government to come up with a practicable framework to end the ugly menace.

* Aguleri community in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State has expressed worry over social media attacks and threat to life on their traditional ruler, Igwe Dr. Micheal Idigo; credited to self-acclaimed IPOB chieftain, Simon Ekpa. * The Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngọzi Chuma-Udeh has explained that the government of Anambra State only put a temporary ban on Blessed Wisdom Model School, Onitsha. Chuma-Udeh who spoke to journalists at her office in Awka, stressed that the reason was to give the school management ample time to placate the family of the injured child being part of the recommendations of the committee set up by government.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has hailed the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo over palliative measures to Cushion the economic challenges in Anambra State. Hon. Amaka Obi who is also the convener of Women Initiatives For Greater Anambra (WIGA) commended Governor Charles Soludo, described the steps taken by Charly Nwamgbafor as timely, stating that it will go a long way to assist residents in the state.

* Anambra Executive and Legislative arms of government are certainly on the verge of forging a stronger bond towards achieving the “One Anambra Agenda.” This became obvious as top functionaries of both arms of government met in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area for a two-day bi-governmental arms’ retreat. The Retreat has the theme “Strengthening Leadership Collaboration for Effective Governance and Delivery of the Anambra Agenda”.

* The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sly Ezeokenwa has expressed optimism that the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) will return to APGA to realise his ambition. Ezeokenwa also said the founder of APGA, Chief Chekwas Okorie, will rejoin the party in the spirit of the ongoing reconciliation in the party. Recall that Obi was a pioneer governor of APGA in Anambra State where he served two terms totalling eight years before defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party and later the LP to become it presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.

* Staff members of Nnamdi Azikiwe University who have remained unpaid since their employment for over three years will soon smile. This followed a motion moved by the House of Representatives Member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu in that respect.

Orogbu in the motion called for investigation of the delay in capturing and payment of the workers by the authorities of Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

* Members of the Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Environment has visited the administrative headquarters of Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA) as part of their familiarization visit to Ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) under their purview. The Chairman of the Committee Hon. Fredrick Ezenwa, member representing Onitsha South one constituency while speaking to the members of ASWAMA stated that the visit was for them to get themselves acquainted with MDAs under their supervision.

* Ikechukwu Okafor, Media aide to former Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps as well as Aviation Minister, Chief Osita Chidoka, has lost his elder sister, Chika Okafor at the age of 51. Okafor in a statement, said his late sister died in a ghastly motor accident that occurred recently along Abatete road in Idemili North LGA, Anambra state
