The Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkemakonam Udeze has promised to support Ago Care Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) for people with disabilities based in making life better for them.

Rt. Hon. Udeze gave the promise when the Executive Director of the Foundation, Mrs. Abugu Gloria Onyedikachi led other members of Board of Trustees of the foundation on a familiarisation visit to him in his office at the Legislative complex in Awka on August 18.
Rt. Hon. Udeze described the visit as a good one, ensuring of his support to the foundation in his own little way to enable the NGO achieve its goals.
The Speaker advised the Executive Director to always do a massive advertisement on any upcoming programme of the foundation to create awareness that would attract support for the foundation.

According to the Speaker, “People always like to support this kind of NGOs if they are legit. Speaker also advised that any money given to the organisation should be spent judiciously and be accounted for.
“This is the only way to gain the trust of the people who are sponsors and people who are willing to support too”, he stressed.
Earlier, Executive Director of the Foundation, Mrs. Abugu Gloria Onyedikachi said that the aim of the visit was to inform the Speaker about their existence, partnership and sponsorship anytime they seek for help.
Mrs. Abugu intimated him of their forthcoming program for people with disabilities, adding that their aim is to give people with disabilities better life and confidence in the society.
She said that Ago Cares Foundation
has succeeded in partnering with some organizations involve in people with disabilities in order to make work easier for them in the society.
According to Abugu, ” My main reason of opening such a foundation is that people with disabilities go through a lot if they don’t have sponsors and people who take care of them.
“As one of them, I know that everything about us are very costly. I had my own difficult times while growing up as a physical disability”, she noted.
Mrs. Abugu who congratulated the speaker on his new appointment as the Speaker of the House thanked him for giving them the opportunity to meet with him to explain what the foundation represent.
Members of the foundation Board of Trustees are Mr. Ndupu Arinze (Secretary), Mrs Ameobi Ngozi (Treasure), Miss kosisochukwu katchy,(Welfare Secretary) and Mr. Tagbo Francis (Media)
