Anambra State House of Assembly has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his recent intervention to mitigate the economic challenges through the announcement of economic paliatives.

ANN reports that yhe member representing Ogbaru one constituency Rt. Hon. Chukwunonso Nobel Igwe, the chief sponsor of the motion through the consent of the Speaker invoked order 10 rule 44 of the house standing order.
According to Hon. Igwe “The government of Governor Chukwuma Soludo promised to transform Anambra state into a leavable and prosperous homeland where people will come to leave, study, work, relax and enjoy.
” The duregulation of the petroleum industry with subsequent removal of the fuel subsidy by this regime as well as the abolition of lower forign exchange rate has caused an unprecedented interim rise in the prices of commodities in Nigeria leaving the masses especially the low and middle income earners scambling to find solutions to the hash economic realities.
” Cognizant that the aforemention sudden rise in the price of commodities, has made life very difficult for low income earners in Anambra state and the whole of Nigeria including women, pensioners and others.
” Governor Chukwuma Soludo recently announced package of palliatives aimed at metigating the economic challenges of the volnurable population in Anambra state occasioned by the removal of the fuel subsidy regime and the abolition of the fuel forex rate is welcomed.
” The government of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has started implementing a ten percent salary increament for workers in Anambra state since January this year (2023) and his intention through this palliative will go a long way in metigating the sufferings of the volnurable population and make life better for ndi Anambra.
” We have a very proactive and passionate Governor because it will only take someone with a heart of gold to understand the suffering of the masses. This was why Suludo in his wisdom, announced relieve packages which is all encompassing starting from monthly payment of 12,000 naira which will commence from September to December 2023 to all civil servants and pensioners in Anambra.
” Those in education and health sector where not forgotten. The Governor gave free antenatal treatment and delivery to pregnant women in all general hospital and health care centers and reduction in ten percent in taxes of commercial drivers, petty trader. He deserves our commendation’. Hon. Nobel Igwe submitted
Speaking in favour of the motion, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke, Hon. Chidi Ibemeka, Hon. Pat Okafor, Deputy Minority Leader Hon. Douglas Egbona, Minority Whip Hon. Paul Obu, Deputy Majority Leader Hon. Jude Akpua, Hon. Tony Mobuike, Hon. Onyekachi Ike, Hon. Emmanuel Nwafor, Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye and Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke, in their seperate submissions applauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for making life easy for ndi Anambra.
” We have a compassionate Governor that feels the pain of his people. This will have a direct impact in the life of the masses and will reduce and relief the tension.
” We pray for more wisdom from God to the Governor so that he will continue to pilot the affairs of the state. This shows he has a listening ear, a good father and he deserve our accolades.
“A good leader thinks about others and have the interest of his people at heart. A lot of families will be releaved by this development and this is the essence of governance which is to alleviate the pain of the people especially the poorest of the poor.
” Ndi Anambra are privileged because we have a Governor that understands economic challenges and the heart beat of his people. We thank him and urge him to do more.
“He is a good man and a savior and ever since the announcement was made, the joy of ndi Anambra has known no bound”. The lawmakers said
Anambra Speaker Rt. Hon. Somto Udeze in his submission commended Governor Chukeuma Soludo for putting smiles in the faces of the citizens through the announcement of the palliative .
