Secondary School Students in Ebenebe community, Awka North local government area, Anambra State has been urged to utilize the opportunity of being educated, as knowledge is power.
Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Anambra State Council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu Phd, who was the guest speaker at the ‘Ebenebe Career Orientation’ urged the students to be law abiding and always keep to rules and regulations, stating that obidence is paramount in life.
Dr. Odogwu while speaking at the Ebenebe Civic Center on Saturday on the theme “Innovation and impact: crafting a career with purpose’, emphasized that education is not scam. He called on the students to be respectful to their parents and to be ready to render service to humanity.
The NUJ boss encouraged the young minds to be discipline, prudent, contentend and always grateful to God despite life challenges, revealing that faith, hope and trust in God is important for to succeed.
The number one journalist in Anambra told the students to be religious and steadfast to their studies, emphasizing on the importance of hardwork and its reward.
Principal Community Secondary School (CSS) Ebenebe Mrs. Ngozi Aniezenwu in her remark challenged the studends calling on them not to indulge in practices that will juperdize their future.
Mrs. Aniezenwu who was represented by the Former Chairman, Awka North and Vice Principal Administration,CSS Ebenebe, Hon. Nebenanya Romanus advised the students to be good ambassadors of their family, school and community.
Chairman of the event Mr. Sunday Onu in his remark encouraged the students to remain focus on their studies assuring them that the future is bright and that being educated will place them in a better position to fulfill there dreams and descover their potentials.
Special Assistance to Anambra governor on security matters, Hon. IIonwa James Chinagolu while commending the organizers of the program stated that the initiative is a step in the right direction. He urged the students to utilize the opportunity of being in school, noting that knowledge is power. He charged them to stay out of drugs, cultism and exam malpractice
Comrade Hyginus Nwekemezie (the Converner) in his speech said the goal is to have students on scholarship and enrol youths on skill acquisition and empowered next year.
Speaking earlier, Comrade Chinedu Egbunonu in his welcome address said the gathering marks the realization of a visionary endeavor and that the occasion signifies a transformative journey, a collective step towards empowerment, guidance, and the exploration of new horizons.
According to Egbunonu the event is aimed at shaping futures, providing invaluable insights and fostering dreams and symbolizes a pledge to invest in the growth and development of the community, particularly the youth, whose futures are bright.
