In a bid to keep the State clean in preparation for the festive season and in readiness for the burial of the father Governor Chukwuma Soludo, scheduled to hold on the 23rd of December 2023, the Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA) says that the reinvigorated monthly sanitation exercise will hold on Saturday, December 16th 2023.
In a press release Signed Mr Mike Ozoemena MD/CEO ASWAMA, reads:
“This month’s exercise has been brought forward to the 16th of December to enable us clean the state and prepare for the influx of our people as well as investors coming into the State for the Yuletide season.
“The exercise as usual will hold simultaneously in all the communities in Anambra State within the hours of 7am – 10am.
“Government warns that no form of vehicular or human movement will be tolerated within these hours. Offenders will be apprehended and be made to face the full weight of the law.
“Transition Committee Chairmen (TCC) of various Local Government Areas are enjoined to ensure proper mobilization and compliance in their areas. Furthermore, Ndi Anambra are urged to participate fully in the exercise; clean their surroundings, desilt water channels, and properly deposit their wastes at liter points closest to them for adequate collection and disposal by the waste management contractors.
