Anambra Assembly Celebrate Igwe Nnewi ‘Orizu’ On His 98th Bithday, 60th Years On The ThroneThe Anambra State House of Assembly has felicitate and celebrate with Igwe Kenneth Onyemaeke Nnaji (K.O.N) Orizu 3rd (Igwe Nnewi), on his 98th bithday and 60th years on the throne.
The member representing Nnewi North constituency Hon. Augustine Onyekachi Ike who sponsored the motion said the longest serving monarch was crowned Igwe Nnewi in 1963 at the age of 38.
“Igwe Orizu 3rd who is the life Grand Patron, Anambra Traditional Rulers Council is now 60 years on the throne and will be marking it on December 28, a record no other monarch anywere in the Southeast Nigeria holds.
The lawmaker who enjoins ndi Anambra to celebrate Igwe K.O.N Orizu listed some of the feat attained by the monach as; the creation of Nkwo Nnewi and industralization of Nnewi town thereby placing Nnewi in the world map. A feat worthy of commendation.
” Igwe Orizu 3rd even at 96 still read newspapers, preside meetings and still writes till date. We are proud of Igwe Nnewi”. Hon. Ike submitted.
In their seperate speech, Hon. Nonso Atuchukwu (Nnewi South one), Hon. Ejike Okechukwu (Anaocha two) Hon. Jude Umennajiego (Onitsha South two), Hon. Tony Muobuike, Chief Whip, Hon. Jude Ngobili (Ihiala one). Deputy Majority leader, Hon. Jude Apkua (Njikoka two). Hon. Nobel Igwe (Ogbaru one). Hon. Justice Azuka (Onitsha North one). Hon. Patrick Okafor (Onitsha North two). Golden Iloh (Ihiala two). Hon. Okpalaeke Anayo (Aguata one) and the Majority leader, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme (Ekwusigo) in prayed for more life in good health and sound mind upon Igwe Orizu
According to lawmakers; “longevity is a gift from God. May Igwe Orizu continue to leave in wisdom, good health and understanding.
” Igwe Nnewi has become a household name. A monarch that is deeply rooted in christianity. He has transform his palace to a place of resolution of conflict (The peace palace in the Southeast) because their is no dispute that goes to. Igwe Orizu, that leaves unresolved.
” Igwe Kenneth Orizu is an honest and God fearing, upright man and Icon who is outstanding. A Medical proffesional known in his field”.
Anambra assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze who commended the chief sponsor of the motion, congratulated Igwe Orizu on this remarkable feats.
Udeze hailed the monach for setting good standards for the coming generation, wishing him continues good health and more years of distinguish leadership to ndi igbo.
