* A bill for a law to establish the Anambra State Energy Agency and other related matters have been read for the first time on Thursday at plenary. The bill was sponsored by the member representing Ihiala two constituency Hon. Golden Iloh.
* The people of Amudo Awka and Egbeagu Amansea have been asked to accept in good fate the outcome of the delineation of their disputed boundary after the exercise. ANN reports that the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim gave the charge during the delineation of the disputed boundary between the two villages in Awka and Amansea. Ibezim who is the Chairman Anambra state Boundary Committee assured that the committee will be transparent and credible in the course of the work so as enthrone lasting peace in the area as directed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo whose target, he explained, is to make Anambra peaceful and conducive for all.
* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Amaka Obi has commended Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo for educating and enlightening the teenagers on the adverse effects of drug abuse and the need for Healthy living. Hon. Obi made the commendation during the 2023 Nanka Teens Summit in Orumba South Council Area.
* A bill for a law to establish private collage of Nursing Sciences and Midwifery in Anambra state and other matter connected thereto has been read for the second time at plenary on Thursday. The member representing Ekwusigo constituency Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, the chief sponsor of the bill, in his submission said the bill is in line with the agenda of Governor Chukwuma Soludo which is the think home philosophy. Ofodeme who is the Majority leader of the house maintained that most of the stakeholders, investors will come down to Anambra and invest if this bill becomes law.
* APGA members in Obosi in Idemili North LGA were treated to mouth watering dishes and beverages when Anambra state Commissioner for Works, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma hosted them to a Christmas party. The event which held in his residential home, at Ugamuma village, Obosi attracted the party members from Obosi Inland and Urban. Addressing the party faithful, Engineer Okoma said that he called them to eat together and make merry as one united family especially now that everyone is in celebration mood.
* Orumba North Transition Committee Chairman, Sir Ogochukwu Ekwueme has lauded Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for his impactful palliative measures to the people of Anambra State especially the vulnerable and less privileged. Sir Ekwueme, who made the commendation in an interview with information officers at the local government secretariat, Ajalli, said that Gov. Charles Soludo is God sent to the people of Anambra State especially at this critical time.
” A bill for a law to ensure the safty, health and welfare of factory workers and all persons lawfully present at factory and all other related matters has scaled through first reading at the Anambra state house of assembly. The bill was sponsored by Hon. Golden Iloh the member representing Ihiala two constituency.
* Anambra State Government led by Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has delivered about 9,970 10kg bags of rice to the 17 wards in Onitsha South Local Government Area of the state. The bags of rice were sent as a palliative measure to cushion the effect of the economic hardship of the country. The consignment was received at the Onitsha South Local Government Secretariat, by the Transition ( TC) Chairman of the local government, Hon. Emeka Orji and his deputy, Hon. Maria Okoye before they were handed over to the councilors to distribute to the recipients at various wards in Onitsha South.
* Anambra State Government wishes to remind citizens that the payment of the non-taxable N12,000 Cash Awards, subsequently increased this December to N20,000, and distribution of rice palliatives were majorly aimed at cushioning the immediate economic hardship occasioned by the removal of the fuel subsidy.
The payment of the cash awards to government workers and pensioners will last for four (4) months only – September to December 2023 – as earlier announced by the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
* A bill for a law to provide for the sum of four hundred and ten billion, one hundred and thirty two million, two hundred and twenty five thousand, two hundred and seventy two naira (410, 132, 225, 272) has been approved for the services of the government of Anambra state for the year ending 31st December 2024 and for related purposes. ANN reports that the bill was read for the third time and passed into law at plenary on Thursday.
