Two Anambra State House of Assembly members, Hon Jude Akpua (Omekannia Abba) and Rt Hon Fred Ezenwa have been honoured with Excellence in Leadership Award by the Egbengwu Brotherhood Union Nimo.
The award came during the 2023 Egbengwu Ojidelike Cultural Day Festival held on the 30th Dec, 2023 at the Egbengwu Square, Nimo.
Speaking, Member Representing Njikoka constituency 2, and Deputy Majority leader at the Anambra State House of Assembly Hon Jude Akpua (P.hd) said the award came as a surprise to him and thanked the people for finding him worthy of such honour.
“Actually I never knew I was one of the awardees. I was overwhelmed with joyed that today Nimo, Egbengwu in particular honoured me with an award. Nimo is like my second home and they tried so much during my election and I won’t take it for granted. Whenever they call me any day I must support them”.
“So I thank the Egbengwu Brotherhood Union for this award and I assure them of my services to represent them and learn my support as my brothers”.

Hon Frederick Chigozie Ezenwa said he fills very happy because it’s not easy for one to be recognised in the community. “The award has given me a reason to spur higher. I won’t forget the Nimo”.
Ezenwa, however urged the people of Egbengwu to remain united, when we work together we achieve greatness. I am happy that Obelegu and Okene are piloting the affairs of the Egbengwu people. I promise not to disappoint them in the next four years, I will make them happy. I dedicate this ward to God Almighty and my father, Chief Abuka Ezenwa who has been my source of aspiration.
Other awards presented were Excellence in Philanthropy award, Posthumous award, Special awards, Excellence in community development project support and Excellence in Profession award.
