Easter: Anambra Assembly Speaker ‘Udeze’ Urges Christians To Reflect On Christs Death And Resurrection

Anambra State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has urged Christians to imbibe the lessons of sacrifice, love and peace that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ signify.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that in his Easter Message on behalf of the State Legislature, Rt. Hon. Udeze noted that Easter offers Nigerians the opportunity to reflect on their lives, adding that the observation of the forty days of Lent reinvigorates the spiritual growth of Christians and God’s amazing grace for the salvation of mankind.

The Speaker maintained that Easter gives Christians the divine power to appreciate the truth that Christ’s dying moments on the cross gave us the greatest illustration of forgiveness,faith and belief necessary for our Christian living.

He enjoined political office holders and other leaders in various fields to take a cue from the selflessness and sacrifice made by Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind by eschewing all forms of political, socioeconomic and religious vices in the interest of peace and progress of the country.

While describing Easter as the central foundation of Christian lives, Rt. Hon. Udeze urged Christians to allow the risen Christ to roll away the rocks of pride, ego and selfishness from their hearts, emphasizing that in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, they find hope, light and eternity.

The Speaker called on Ndi Anambra especially different religious bodies and political leaders to continue to pray for the peace and development of the State and generate more support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in appreciation of the numerous achievements of the Governor in all sectors of the State economy in two years in office.

He expressed hope that God is capable of changing the current difficult situation of the country to the better and enjoined Nigerians to use this period of Easter to seek God’s intervention in the affairs of the country.
