Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike says the importance of family planning and child spacing in the current society can never be over emphasized, as it reduces economic burden on the parents, helps a woman to know when to born among others.

during the state’s Cascade Training on Long-Acting Reversal Contraceptives (LARC) with emphasis on Levoplant Implant and Hormona-IUD produced by DKT, a non-governmental organization that develops family planning commodities and offers other services,
reiterated the importance of family planning and child spacing in the society.
Dr. Obidike who thanked DKT for supporting the state with various family planning commodities, noted that Anambra State will continue to partner them to achieve its family planning objectives and asked the participants to take the training serious in order to teach others in their various facilities across the state.
He further told the trainees to always counsel women properly for them to understand what they want to do and choose the best for themselves, as well as teach them all the risks factors in all the family planning methods at all times.

the training, held in Awka, is in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare
DKT, a non governmental organization, is into family planning, child spacing, contraception and reproductive health whose mission is to ensure that family planning commodities get to the nooks and crannies of Nigeria.
The NGO are also into commodity development and teaches people the various methods of family planning from injectibles to implants among others to ensure a safe, effective and affordable family planning.
