The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has said that the Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Owen Nwokolo has sustained the integrity and leading religious roles which the diocese on the Niger conveys as the oldest diocese in Nigeria.
Felicitating the Anglican Prelate on his birthday, on behalf of the State Legislature, Udeze described the Bishop as a true man of God whose sound religious background has impacted positively on his episcopate.
The Speaker who recollected Bishop Nwokolo’s outstanding experience in church administration and evangelism, extolled him for measuring up with the status, integrity and standard of Bishops Emeritus of the diocese on the Niger, evident in his numerous accomplishments.
Rt. Hon. Udeze commended Bishop Nwokolo for establishing the University on the Niger among other achievements such as expansion of churches and Archdeaconries within the diocese, extensive evangelism outreach as well as improved welfare scheme for the clergy and members of the diocese.
Udeze prayed God to guide and strengthen Bishop Nwokolo and his family to enable him continue to pilot the affairs of the diocese creditably, while wishing him more anointing of God and longevity.
