Anambra Govt Tasks Communities On Peaceful Co-existence

Anambra State government has urged members of various communities to embrace peaceful co-existence for significant progress and all round development.

Angel Network Network (ANN) reports that the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim gave the charge during the general meeting of Mbaukwu community at the town hall.

Deputy Governor Ibezim who described peace as paramount to societal progress and development, said that community members should learn to tolerate each other in the collective interest.

Explaining that all efforts he is making in the community as an illustrious son, are geared towards the betterment of the town, Dr Ibezim encouraged members of the town to always try to contribute their quota in making the community an envy of its counterparts.

The Deputy Governor commended the comportment of Ndi Mbaukwu during the meeting as well as their ability to adopt the 2024 constitution of the town which he said will go a long way in ensuring equality, fairness and equitable distribution of democracy dividends in the community, and advised Ndị Mbaukwu to participate in the community’s election slated for this Saturday.

In a remark, the Chairman, Mbaukwu Peace Committee, Barrister Chike Onyali lauded people of the community on their support to the committee and the move towards the repositioning of the town, assuring them that every content of the new constitution, are in the overall interest of the community.

One of the stakeholders of the town, Prince Onyekachukwu Ebede, described the amendment of the old constitution and the adoption of the new one by Ndi Mbaukwu in general as one of the best things that happened to the community, and appealed to the people to vote during the Saturday election for lasting peace.

Members of Mbaukwu community during the meeting, unanimously through a voice vote adopted the new constitution and accepted the conduct of the community’s election this coming Saturday.
