* The traditional ruler of Olumbanasa and Chairman, Anambra State Multi-Stakeholders Action Committee on Prevention of Gender Based Violence, (MAP-GBV), Igwe Pius Omachonu, has called for tougher stance against the rising incidents of gender-based violence in Anambra State.
Igwe Omachonu, made the call during one of the committee’s courtesy visits to media outfits in the state.
While speaking, Igwe Omachonu told their host and General Manager, Radio Nigeria Purity FM, Awka, Mr. Uchenna Chukwuedo, that the committee found media critical to its ongoing campaign aimed at preventing GBV in the area hence the decision to visit media outfits to solicit their support.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned the Solution Arena at Agulu in Anaocha local government area of Anambra State
Soludo while speaking described his administration’s agenda for the state, especially Agulu and Anaocha as huge.
Governor Soludo stated that the state master plan is huge and accommodates the next generation of ndị Anambra, pointing out that as a result, all Trunk-A Roads have been mapped for dualization.
He noted that in keeping with his urban regeneration initiative, Odu Igbo, Onitsha is currently being constructed, while a Solution Arena structure is already up and running in Awka, thereby reducing street trading.
* The Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, and Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency have commenced a four-day relocation of all illegal motor parks, buses and tricycle operators who operate from the major road along MCC to Obosi Central Park.

to newsmen during the exercise, revealed that all shanties and their dwellers, traders, squatters, and unapproved parks presently along the road will be vacated as enforcement will continue daily until they move to the permanent parks.
According to the OCHA Brigade boss, people should learn to adhere to government directives and maintain standardization in all approved parks for uniformity and digitalisation.
Comrade Anere said that the enforcement began with demolition of shanties constructed on the roadside by traders along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, walkways and under pedestrian bridges from MCC road down to Upper Iweka axis, and stating the state government’s determination not to relent but ensure that the right things are done at all times.
* The Ogbe Oye Market Inland Town, Onitsha, Anambra State, was agog as the market women trooped out en masse to celebrate and commend Governor Chukwuma Soludo for resuscitation and providing them with pipe-borne water after over 20 years they last saw something like that.
The women gave the commendation when the State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka led a power delegation on an inspection tour to some of the water facilities under the Onitsha Greater Water Scheme, which are currently undergoing resuscitation by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Some of the facilities inspected, include the Terminal Reservoir Army Barracks, among others.

The Chief Judge of Anambra State Hon. Justice Onochie Anyachebelu in his speech said Anambra is a very high litigious state in Nigeria and the number of law suits filed and determined in a year is only second to Lagos.
” As at today, Anambra State Judicial has 30 Honourable Judges including the Chief Judge, 71 learned Magistrate of various cadres and and 29 Presidents of customary court”. Anyachebelu said.
* The Anambra State Ministry of Lands, Awka, has announced the commencement of the Recertification and Revalidation of all land title documents, including lands for State and Non-State.
The state government is requiring all landowners to pay N25,000 to revalidate their land or risk losing them.

The exercise aims to review and update land records, enhance plot holder information, and upgrade survey records from Nigerian National/Local to Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Coordinate System.
* Two foremost Anambra sons from Akpo Town, Aguata Local Government Area, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka and Dr Vincent Okpala have expressed gratitude to Governor Charles Soludo for flagging off the construction of the long-neglected Akpo-Ogboji Road by the state government.
Ezeonwuka, a Board of Trustees member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA in an interview, said that for the governor to have visited Akpo town and actually done the flag off ceremony means that he has the welfare of the people at heart.
He therefore implored the governor to expedite action on the road, so that, when it is eventually completed, the road would be one of the most solid, quality roads not only in Anambra State, but in the whole country.
* The Idemili South local government council Mayor, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has commissioned two road projects in Ezema village, Ojoto.
The roads which were attracted by a retired Director of Engineering Services at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Engr. Felix Ebuzoeme was a very special intervention projects from Federal Ministry of Works, Abuja.
Speaking during the commissioning, Hon. Obi appreciated Engr. Ebuzoeme for his commitment to the progress of Ojoto, and Anambra State, stating that he has embraced PPCP that Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo CFR is appealing Ndi Anambra.
She added that the roads would serve the people in the community, passerby, and appealed more stakeholders to assist in the development of their communities and Idemili South.
* In order to maintain his promises to traders at Ogbaru Main Market popularly known as Relief Market, the President general of the Market, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu has vowed to sanitize all nooks and crannies of the Market.
Ochiogu vowed that under his watch as the President general of the Market, the Market would be neat and flood free especially in this rainy season, saying that since Obodoukwu Road Okpoko gutters has become threat to their Market environment, he has adopted regular cleaning of the drainages as a routine in order to checkmate the area.
