* Having more judges of Anambra extraction will soon be possible as work is advancing on Judges Quarters project in Onitsha as requested by the National Judicial Council.
This was the observation made by Anambra State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Paully Onyeka shortly after inspecting progress of work on the Judges Quarters, Onitsha, an Anambra state government project.
Work started on the site barely one month ago and has advanced to roofing stage.
Speaking after the inspection, Onyeka said the speed is in line with policy of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration to start and finish every project in a record time since all the materials needed including funding have been provided.
* An All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) chieftain, Hon. Benedict Nwasah, has said that all his efforts and contributions towards seeing Governor Chukwuma Soludo emerge in the 2021 Anambra Governorship Election were not rewarded or recognized in anyway.
Briefing newsmen in Awka, Nwasah emphasized that he spent so much while mobilising support for Soludo and the party, APGA, in his domain, stating that he contested the last Transition Committee Chairmanship Election and came second.
He added that he was more than qualified to be the Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area.

(NYCN), Idemili North Chapter has kicked off awareness campaign for its upcoming programme tagged “Idemili North Youth Redemption Crusade”.
The president of the youth organisation in Idemili North LGA, Comrade Chukwuebuka Nwobosi while speaking
about the forthcoming week-long event scheduled to take place this month, said the programme is designed to educate impressionable school children in Idemili North LGA on the consequences of their involvement in such anti-social acts as drug abuse, teenage prostitution, truancy in school, cultism, stealing, abortion, early marriage, and other social vices.
According to Nwobosi, the organisation would visit two secondary schools in each town, which is in Idemili North LGA, for the reformative, educative, and counselling programme.
Nwobosi expressed his readiness to partner with NDLEA, NPF, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Information, ASATU, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and other relevant agencies to ensure a smooth and successful program in Idemili North LGA .
The youth leader regretted that many young people, who failed to realise their potential owing to bad parenting, peer pressure/influence, and misguidance, are now lunatics, single mothers, drug addicts, criminals, and layabouts.

Hon. Barr Dominic Ononiba has joined other dignitaries in congratulating the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor on his 40th priestly anniversary celebration.
Barr. Ononiba attended the Thanksgiving mass held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, to celebrate the Bishop.
He praised the Bishop for his dedication and commitment to the growth and development of the Catholic Church.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo says the Late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and other heros past sowed the seed of progress.
The Governor stated this at the third Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Memorial Lecture series at the Igbariam campus of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim said while Nigerians celebrate their heros past, they should reflect on the devastating effects of violence.
* The Coalition of Civil Society Networks on AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (ATM Network) has urged newly elected Local Government Chairmen in Anambra State to prioritize primary healthcare centres (PHC) to enhance healthcare delivery in their localities.
The group made the call during a media briefing on the ATM Anambra State Global Fund, GC-7/C19RM/RSSH project in the
state.
The group said proper functioning and funding of PHCs will ensure that citizens at the grassroots have access to quality healthcare services.
They also said by prioritizing care of healthcare centres, council chairmen can complement efforts and contribute to the overall well-being of their constituents.

Both Governors spoke during a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor while attending the 13th edition Annual Zik Lecture Series holding at the Awka main campus of the university.
Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyeka Ibezim expressed optimism that the new Vice-Chancellor will fulfill his plans for the institution.
Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah also commended the new Vice-Chancellor for his foresightedness and lofty visions for the university and promised the readiness of his government to partner with the institution to ensure a successful era.
* The National President of the National Union of Market Traders Employers of Nigeria (NUMTEN), Comrade James Chukwuma Ogu, has inaugurated the Anambra State Council and 21 LGA Executives of the body in Awka,
Speaking while inaugurating the Excos, the President assured all the stakeholders in Anambra State that NUMTEN had come to complement their efforts at making the market arena more conducive for trading in the state.
Ogu said the Union was a newly approved and certified trade union by the Federal Government of Nigeria, under the Trade Union Act, CAP (T14) 2004 as amended and was affiliated to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
He added that NUMTEN’s registration was borne out of passion for restructuring the larger sector of the Nigerian economy and for alleviating and eradicating the suffering of Nigerian market traders.
* A veteran Super Falcons striker and five-time Olympian Maureen Madu has demanded justice over her allegedly dehumanisation in the hands of security personnel following an uninvestigated petition against her by a parent.
Madu who is the proprietor of Maureen Kiddies Football Academy for boys and girls made the call on Sunday while interacting with sports journalists in Awka
Narrating her ordeal, Madu said one man identified as Uchenna handed over his daughter over to her in Awka in June this year for basic training in football in her camp during the long holiday.
The ex-Super Falcons Striker said she invited the man to come to the camp
several times but he declined and never visited but rather sent money for purchase of her needs including underwear and sanitary pads.
