…Widows, less privileged went home with the gifts
The Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye has distributed over one thousand (1,000) bags of rice and cash to persons from two constituencies that make up Awka South Local Government Area.
Rt. Hon. Okoye, who is the member representing Awka South two constituency, while speaking, said the event brings to an end the 2024 batch of the monthly salary scheme which had twenty-two individuals drawn from the two constituencies as beneficiaries and to enroll another set of individuals to benefit from the scheme in 2025.
Angel Network News (ANN) gathered that the distribution at Amawbia, saw twenty ward Chairmen, members of the Local Government Working Committee, members of the executive of the wards of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Awka South One and Two Constituencies, and many widows and the less privileged go home with the largesse,
In their separate speeches, the Mayor of Awka South, Prince Chinedu Okafor and the Chairman of APGA in the Local Government Area, Barr. Lawrence Ezeudu, commended the Deputy Speaker for demonstrating what a true leader should be.
The beneficiaries who were full of praise, told newsmen that they will forever be indebted to Rt. Hon. Okoye.
