Anambra Assembly Commend Soludo For Re-constructing Nkwo, Igwe Orizu Roads In Nnewi

Anambra State House of Assembly has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for awarding and re-constructing Nkwo to Nkwo road, Igwe Orizu road and ensuring the completion of Edo Ezemewi road in Nnewi.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the member representing Nnewi North Constituency Hon. Augustine Ike while moving the motion at plenary on Tuesday,
stated that in line with Governor Soludo’s vision of building a smart, prosperous and liveable homeland, he has awarded a total of 621.649km of roads out of which 316km have been asphalted as at November 2024.

According to Hon. Ike, Soludo at the 37th meeting of the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) awarded among other roads the Nkwo – Nkwo and Igwe Orizu roads Nnewi, outside the ongoing dualization of roads from Agulu to Nnewi and Nnewi to Okija, including the near completion of Edo Ezemewi road (Bank road).

” Governor Soludo has kept his promise of further awarding the reconstruction of Nkwo to Nkwo road and Igwe Orizu roads whose current conditions have been a major drawback on commercial and business activities in the area, as commuters hardly navigate successfully through these roads to their various destinations.

“The reconstruction of these roads will alleviate the sufferings of road users, improve connectivity of towns, as well as boost socio-economic activities of Nnewi commercial city”. Hon. Ike submitted.

Supporting the motion, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke (Aguata one), Hon. Nonso Atuchukwu (Nnewi South one), Hon. Golden Iloh (Ihiala two), Hon. Emma Nwafor (Orumba South), Hon. Bernard Udemezue (Ayamelum), Hon. Obi Nweke (Anambra East) and Majority Leader Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme (Ekwusigo) in their separate speeches, commended Governor Soludo for the massive road constructions across the 21 local government areas of Anambra state.

Anambra Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze who presided plenary commended Hon. Augustine Ike for moving the motion.

The house adjurned and to reconvene on Thursday December 19th 2024.
