Anambra Govt Rescues 13 Trafficked Children

… four physically disabled persons, one speech impaired, twins, and six toddlers rescued

The Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere has read the riot act for human traffickers operating in the state to relocate or face the full wrath of the law.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
reading the riot act in Otolo Nnewi after a joint taskforce of OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs burst a human trafficking enclave, Comrade Anere promised that the state government will continue to crack down on all sorts of criminality in the state.

Comrade Anere bemoaned the poor health condition of the children and wondered why a human being will be so heartless to subject innocent children to just harrowing experiences just for their selfish interests.

The joint task force had rescued 13 children aged between two and 12 from a suspected child trafficker, Angela Okechukwu, from Umuzumbala Umuzu Otolo Nnewi and her collaborators.

Among the rescued kids were four physically disabled persons, one speech impaired, twins, and six toddlers.

ANN gathered that the joint task force also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.

Reports say that the trafficker adopts and sells children to people from different parts of the country.

Some of the residents of the community, recalled several interventions they had made against the woman but fell on deaf ears and appreciated the state government for the rapid intervention to end the unlawful act.
