* Operatives of the Special Anit Cultism Squad Enugwu Ukwu while on patrol intercepted three Occupants of a black-coloured Lexus 330 SUV without a plate number at Kwata junction, Awka.
During interrogation by the Operatives, the suspects, Ifesinachi Okonwko, aged 22 years, Chisom Okafor, aged 20 years and Oderah Ebenezer, aged 20 years respectively confessed to having stolen the car at Isuaniocha Village, Awka North and are members of the same criminal gang terrorizing innocent citizens in Awka.
Anambra State Police Command invites anyone looking for the vehicle as highlighted above, especially residents of Isuaniocha to come to the office of the Police Public Relations Officer Awka with valid Proof/Evidence of Ownership for verification and possible collection.
* The International Breweries Ltd has partnered with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Command towards improving road safety. This collaboration was formalized during an official visit.
In his remarks, Mr. Okechukwu Nzeribe who led the International Breweries Ltd,
assured the FRSC of ongoing support and collaboration from International Breweries in promoting responsible driving habits and enhancing road safety in Anambra State.

Nzeribe informed the Sector Commander that International Breweries is exploring further collaboration opportunities, including Public Awareness Campaigns, Jointly organizing campaigns to educate drivers and road users about road safety, driver training Initiatives, Promoting defensive driving techniques and best practices for road safety, and Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives, partnering on community development projects and responsible drinking initiatives.
Responding, Corps Commander Joyce Nnennaya Alexander expressed her gratitude to International Breweries for their unwavering support and contributions to the mission of the FRSC.
Alexander commended their commitment to corporate social responsibility, particularly in enhancing public safety. She encouraged International Breweries and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to deepen their involvement in FRSC activities, emphasizing that collaborative efforts are crucial for achieving sustainable road safety goals.
* A bill for a law to provide for the maintenance of internal security and order in the state and to establish the Anambra State Agunechemba and for related matters has been passed into law by the Anambra State House of Assembly .
The bill, which provides for the creation and operation of the security outfit, passed its first, second, and third readings during plenary on Thursday.
Leading the debate, the Majority Leader Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme said the primary objective of the outfit is to enhance security and combat crime in all communities across the State, as the Agunechemba Security Outfit will operate at three levels—community, local government, and state as the central command.
The Speaker, Rt Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze said the bill is to come into force from Friday, January 17, 2025. Udeze commended the 8th Assembly for its efforts over the past few months in deliberating and finding solutions to the state’s insecurity challenges and thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his commitment in ensuring that Anambra remains safe and crime-free.
* The youths of Enugwu village in Nsugbe Community laments over the inability of Anambra State Government and security agencies to throroughly investigate and bring the culprits to justice, one year after the gruesome murder of two of their sons by some suspected members of neighbouring Umueri Community in Anambra East Council Area of Anambra State,
The Community are demanding justice for two the two slain youths, Prince Chigozie and Chukwura Anyansi during a one-year remembrance service for the victims, held at their grave site in their family compound in Nsugbe.
The victims were allegedly assassinated on November 22nd , 2023 following a land dispute between both communities.
The service featured short prayers for the continued repose of the souls of the victims, exhortation and condolence messages from members of the community.
* The Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA), Mr. Mike Ozoemena has cautioned residents against burning wastes Indiscriminately as it might lead to fire outbreak.
Mr. Ozoemena appealed to ndi Anambra not to play with fire especially during this dry harmattan season, stating that they should dispose waste property since Anambra State government had made waste disposal easy.
The ASWAMA Boss said that the administration of Governor Charles Soludo CFR has made it easy for every household by taking the wastes to a designated refuse dump, saying that this is to ensure that the state is rid of refuse and kept clean and safe from fire outbreaks.

The MD/CEO of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Mr. Ossy Onuko during an inspection visit to the area, called for collaborative efforts of the stakeholders in the area..
Mr Onuko who expressed concern over the deplorable state of the area, describing it as nothing but a slum. He noted that Ifite, which houses thousands of students from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, deserves appreciate cares, not to be left in such a dire state.
* Chief of Protocols and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Soludo, Hon. Chinedu Nwoye says any opposition campaigning with insecurity is a criminal suspect and will be held as an accomplice.

* The frontline aspirant for Anambra South Senatorial by-election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Akai Egwuonwu, has once again appealed to the patriotic people of Anambra South to be at alert and be proactive against fire incidents to minimize human, property and good losses throughout this harmattan season.
According to Egwuonwu, preventing a fire outbreak is everybody’s business. This he said, while observing that we should all join in the fight to reduce all forms of fire disasters, especially the ones caused by human negligence and mistakes.

* The Senatorial Aspirant for the upcoming Anambra South Senatorial Bye-election under the platform of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Barr Peter Ekwueme, congratulates Hon. Mark Okoye on his confirmation as the Managing Director, South East Development Commission (SEDC).
