Ministry Of Environment Kick-off ‘Keep Anambra Clean Project’

The Commissioner for Environment, Engr. Felix Odimegwu, alongside the Managing Director of Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA), Hon Mike Ozoemena, joined Associations of 046 Comedians and Mc’s, as they kicked off their ‘keep Anambra clean project’ in Awka.

Dr. Odimegwu while speaking, emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in keeping the environment clean. He stressed that the Soludo-led government was ever ready to support any initiative that will not only promote a clean, green, and sustainable Anambra but also protect and preserve them for future generations.

The Environment Commissioner noted that the Anambra State comedians voice and actions during the sanitation process was worthy of emulation

Also speaking after the exercise at Aroma and Eke-Awka Market, ASWAMA boss, Sir. Mike Ozoemena highlighted his agencies efforts in providing effective waste management services.

In their separate remarks, The Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji and the
Chairman Awka South LGA, Hon. Chinedu Okafor, praised the initiative, noting that a clean environment was essential for promoting tourism and cultural development.

They cautioned the masses against harmful practices that threaten environmental health.

On his part, the President of the Anambra Comedians and MCs Association, Mr. Wisdom Udemba, (MC Zanzino) stressed that transforming Anambra into a clean, green, and healthy mega city requires collective effort, adding that human activities are closely tied to the environment.

The Comedians demonstrated their support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s urban renewal and development agenda through a sanitation exercise in Awka and its environs.

Also in attendance incudes; the Vice President, Mr. Pascal Nadi, (Doctor Mmilioma), and the Awka Coordinator, Mr. Valentine Obinwanne, (Onyeobodo) among others.
