Anambra Lawmakers Assess Activites Of Ministry Of Lands, Survey And Town Planning

Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Lands, Survey, and Town Planning led by the the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Jude Akpua has visited the Ministry of Lands, Survey, and Town Planning.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Hon. Akpua who is the Member representing Njikoka two Constituency, while speaking said the purpose of the visit was to assess the activities and progress of the ministry in line with its responsibilities in urban development and land management.

Commissioner for Lands, Survey, and Town Planning, Prof. Affomze Amucheazi,
in his speech, briefed the lawmakers on the ministry’s current projects, challenges, and achievements.

Prof. Amucheazi emphasized the need for transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the administration of land resources in Anambra State, particularly in terms of urban planning and regulation.

The Committee commended the Commissioner for the monumental structure he is setting in the ministry of lands. They provided valuable insight into the ministry’s operations and provided constructive recommendations aimed at improving land management practices in the state.

The lawmakers requested for some documents for the enhancement of their oversight which is part of the constitutional rights of the legislators.

The committee members were also taken round the ministry by the Hon Commissioner to see the GIS sector of the ministry.
