* As administration of Governor Charles Soludo marks three years in office, the First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo, alongside Hon. Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi, visited the new government house/lodge and the solution Fun-city at Awka.

The tour was to ascertain the level of work in the ongoing projects. They expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo and his wife, Dr. Mrs Soludo for the numerous projects in the state, especially the new government house/lodge and the solution Fun-city.

They added that the project is in line with Governor Soludo’s agenda to enhance the standard of living of the people, attract investors and tourists, and generate revenue into state coffers.

* Loretto Special Science School, Adazi-Nnukwu, in Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra State, has emerged champion of the 2025 Awka Catholic Diocesan Secondary School Quiz Competition, Senior category.

All Saints’ International Technical College, Awgbu, junior category, Wisdom Nursery and Primary School, junior category, and St John’s Nursery and Primary School, Neni, senior category, which represented the region also smiled.

The Education Secretary of the region, Rev Fr Henry Uchechukwu Oduenyi, in his speech, thanked the champion students, for making the region proud, their teachers for putting the students right, and all that contributed to the success of the competition.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo says his administration is intentional about developing all parts of the state.

Soludo, who stated this while having a media parley in commemoration of his three years anniversary in office, said his government has intentionally given more priorities to the hard-to-reach local government areas such as Awka North; where over forty kilometers of road have been built, and Anambra West Local Government Area.

According to the Governor, his administration is constructing five new General Hospitals in Anambra North Senatorial District, including the Okpoko General Hospital commissioned yesterday, adding that the hospitals would be equipped with world-class facilities.

* A cloth seller has lamented over the alleged looting of her boutique shop by the operatives of the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) during a raid and seizure of fake and expired drugs at the popular Ọgbọgwụ Market in Onitsha, the commercial hub of Anambra State.

This is coming days after the Agency stormed the market in a coordinated enforcement operation to clamp down on the illegal sale of counterfeit and expired pharmaceutical products, after which the market was sealed and locked until recently when it was reopened for commercial activities.

The woman, who sells clothes in a nearby boutique shop, was seen in a viral video, crying and lamenting helplessly when she visited her shop to resume trade after weeks of lockout, only to discover that her shop had been emptied, with all her wares allegedly taken away.

* The member representing Ihiala federal constituency at the National Assembly Abuja Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike has stated in clear-cut erms that opposition elements will bow before Governor Chukwuma Soludo in reverence come November 8th, 2025.

Agbodike who addressed newsmen at St. Awka said that there is a possibility of such happening because Anambra State has never had a governor like Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.

The former Deputy Speaker of Anambra Assembly emphasized that there is absolutely no need for any opposition to conceive the idea of contesting against Governor Soludo in the next governorship election because he believes that there is no contest and no competition whatsoever because the incumbent governor has performed beyond the expectations of Ndi-Anambra in just three years of his administration.

* The Obijackson Foundation, in collaboration with the Okija Bu Enyi Brothers Assembly, has launched the Keep Okija Clean initiative.

The program, officially unveiled at St. Mary’s School Field, Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, aims to improve sanitation, waste management, and environmental awareness in the community.

Speaking at the launch, Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Engr. Felix Odimegwu who spoke highly of the project, said with the launch of Keep Okija Clean, Okija has taken the lead in environmental sanitation.

In his remark, the Founder of the Obijackson Group, Chief Ernest Obiejesi,
took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his efforts towards ensuring the sustainability of the state and its people.

*Anambra First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo has received official of Anambra State Sports Development Commission (ASSDC) ably led by the Chairman, Mr. Patrick Estate Onyedum at governor’s lodge Amawbia.

In her remark, Soludo’s wife stated that she is exceptionally proud of the exploits of these amazing young talents and that Anambra is undoubtedly a home of exceptional talents.

The Anambra First Lady further admits to become the Grand Patroness of Anambra Queens today, assuring a firm responsibility to lead the support and follow up closely on the development of these young athletes”.

The chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission, Mr. Patrick Estate Onyedum while presenting ANSSI cap to the Governor’s wife, Mr. Onyedum emphasized that improving sports activities in secondary schools remains a top priority for His Excellency, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo. He stressed the importance of discovering new talents at the primary and secondary school levels in the state.

* A crucial Stakeholders Partnership Town Hall Meeting was held in Awka, Anambra State to discuss vital themes of promoting human rights, law enforcement accountability, and effective criminal justice administration.

Organized by the Anambra Police Stakeholders Partnership Forum (PSPF) and facilitated by RULAAC, with support from the Rule of Law and Anticorruption RoLAC 2 Programme, the meeting brought together esteemed guests, colleagues, members of the media, and partners in justice.

In his welcome remarks, Okechukwu Nwanguma emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of respect for human rights, enhancing accountability, and promoting effective criminal justice delivery.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo says his administration has given out two-point-two million coconut and palm seedlings to two hundred thousand families in Anambra State to pull them out of poverty.

Soludo, who disclosed this during a media chat on his three years anniversary in office, explained that in few years’ time, the seedlings will begin to yield to not only take care of internal food consumption, but will also be exportable produce.

The governor pointed out that the initiative will also save Anambra; which has a small landmass from erosion, adding that his administration has planted one million trees within the state to stop erosion menace.

* The Nigeria Association of Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra State Chapter has honour the wife of the State governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, Chief Dr Mrs Flora Ilonzo, late Professor Dora Akunyili and others with various achievements awards.

According to the State Chairperson, NAWOJ, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika, the ceremony held in Awka, the State Capital had late NAFDAC boss, Akunyili receiving a legend award, while the Living Legend Award was bestowed on Hon. Ada Adogu, first Anambra Female Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria, dame Dr Virgy Etiaba, first female governor in Nigeria, Prof Chinyere Stella Okunna, first female Prof. of Mass Communication sub-Saharan Africa, among others.

This according to Ifejika, was part of their activities to mark International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration earlier observed by the United Nations on March 8 all over the world under the theme; Accelerate action on gender equality with a sub-theme – projecting Anambra Female Achievers (yesterday, today and tomorrow) designed by NAWOJ.
