Sir. Jude Ezenwafor has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer in the fourth coming November 8th Anambra State governorship election.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Ezenwafor was the only aspirant who purchased the party’s N40 million nomination form for the governorship primary election.
The Abuja based real estate developer got the party’s ticket unopposed during the PDP primary held Tuesday at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka, Anambra State Capital.
He was declared winner by the chairman of the PDP primary election committee, Col. Chijioke Onwubuya (rtd), following the conclusion of voting by accredited delegates.
A total of 853 delegates, including 839 from the 21 local government areas and 14 national delegates, participated in the exercise.
Though unchallenged, delegates were each issued ballot papers to affirm their support by writing Ezenwafor’s name, with voting conducted in batches according to local government areas.
Speaking after the primary, Ezenwafor thanked the delegates for their support and urged them to work to ensure the party wins the November 8 governorship election.
“I thank all the delegates for the massive support and their endorsement. We are going to work hard to ensure the party wins the governorship election,” he added.
