* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Somtochukwu Udeze has described Dr.Onyechi Ikpeazu as the pride of the Legal Profession and an outstanding legal luminary who has continued to use his legal profession to champion the course of humanity.
In his Goodwill Message to Dr.Ikpeazu on behalf of the State Legislature as he marks his birthday, Rt.Hon.Udeze maintained that the renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria has made significant contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s legal system, adding that Ndi Anambra are proud of his accomplishments in the legal profession.
The Speaker who expressed satisfaction that Dr.Ikpeazu has through sound legal training and glorious practice, become a legal reference authority in Nigeria, extolled his candour, courage, wisdom as well as experience which he has continued to exhibit in the law courts.
He enjoined other well meaning citizens who are professionals in different areas to prove themselves in their chosen fields and bring recognition and honour to Anambra State as Dr.Ikpazu has done in his legal profession.
* Anambra Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor has called on non-indeges to help curb insecurity in the state by flushing out the bad eggs among them.
Mefor made the call while addressing members of the Association of Non Indigenes Welfare in Anambra State (ANISA-ANIAS), who paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Awka, recently.
The commissioner, who observed that non-indegenes have contributed meaningfully to the growth of the state, noted that they have equally benefited from Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s inclusive governance in various areas, including security, employment, infrastructure, healthcare, education and youth empowerment, among others.
Mefor however, explained that available data show that majority of the criminals apprehended in the state are nonindigenes, urging members of the association to do their best in supporting Governor Soludo’s security interventions to rid the state of criminals in order to redeem their image.
* A UK-based bamboo revolution enthusiast, Fortunate Fapounda, wants young Nigerians to key into efforts to transform the bamboo and rattan industry in Nigeria.
This will ensure that the revolutionary intenvention of the Sahelian Institute for Bamboo Research and Entrepreneurship Development (SIBRED) Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka are successful.
Fapounda made the call in a goodwill message during a one-day hybrid roundtable on sustainable food systems organized by SIBRED in Awka, Anambra State.
The event was cohosted by Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network Global, (GCSAYN).

* Anambra Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu has sues for calm and states that the Command is already in contact with the relevant security outfit to identify the suspect and ensure justice is served.
This is following a report of an incident at Ibeto junction, Nnewi where a trigger-happy security operative shot a lady who was later identified as Chiamaka Okeke which resulted to her death.

* The leadership of NYSC Anambra witnessed a transition as Mrs. Blessing Ekene Iruma officially handed over the reins to the incoming 15th State Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua .
The event, which was attended by management staff and stakeholders, was marked by the handover of documents , signifying a seamless transition of leadership within the NYSC Anambra State.
In her remarks, Mrs. Iruma urged the management staff to extend the same high level of cooperation they had given to her to the new Coordinator , emphasizing the continuity of excellence within the Secretariat.
Speaking during the ceremony, Mrs. Ojisua expressed gratitude for the warm reception and outlined her administrative priorities. She assured that her leadership would prioritize the welfare of both Corps members and staff, adding that she would operate an *open-door policy to foster inclusivity and transparency.
* Prominent oil magnate and philanthropist Arthur Eze has publicly endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo, labeling his challengers as lacking both credibility and vision.
Eze expressed his admiration for Soludo’s accomplishments over the past three years, emphasizing that divine destiny has a role in the Governor Soludo’s leadership.
Chief Arthur Eze also appealed to ndi Anambra, urging them to rally behind Soludo for the ongoing development of the state.
In response to the criticisms from opposition figures, Chief Eze condemned their challenges to Soludo’s re-election, asserting they are destined to fail. “They lack credibility and vision,” Eze said, highlighting his unwavering confidence in the governor’s capability.
Simultaneously, Governor Soludo reaffirmed his commitment to the elevation and transformation of Anambra State.
* The Mayor of Idemili North Local Government Area, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka, has called on residents to adopt proper waste management practices as part of a broader effort to promote environmental sustainability and safeguard public health.
Speaking during a recent community engagement session, Hon. Nkwoka stressed the urgency of collective responsibility in tackling waste-related challenges to tackle the aftermath of heavy downpour during the raining season.
The Mayor pointed out the dangers of poor waste disposal, including pollution, health risks, and flooding. He advocated for a culture of reducing waste generation, reusing items, and embracing recycling as key steps to minimize environmental impact.

The Commandant, Anambra State Command of the United Nigeria Chaplaincy, UNC, CSC Arinzechukwu David, stated this at the passing out parade of over 20 new members and awards ceremony of United Nigerian Chaplaincy, Anambra State Command, where he recalled efforts made to bring both communities together to agree on peaceful resolution of issues between them.
He said the new members (flags) have been equipped for moral formation in institutions, fight against cultism, reformation of prison inmates, rapid response in rescue operations, intervention in civil suits for peaceful resolutions; as in alternative dispute resolution, and assistance in proffering solutions to security challenges in the state.
* Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, Basil Ejidike, has denied any form of foul play in the party’s primary election held on Saturday, April 5 in Awka, ahead of November 8 governorship election in Anambra.
A political pressure group, APGA Media Warriors Forum, had backlashed the APC governorship candidate, describing him as a serial liar, and political dupe, who would always make his way through by duping others around him.
National Coordinator of the group, Chinedu Obigwe, made the claim while reacting to a comment made by Ukachukwu, when he said that he went into a senatorial primary election with Bianca Ojukwu, under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and won her and that he would also win Governor Charles Soludo in the same manner.
* Federal Polytechnic, Oko, has taken a significant step towards maintaining discipline and fairness within its ranks.
Towards this end, the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Irene Chioma Awuzi, inaugurated the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee in the institution.
She charged the committee members to discharge their duties with commitment and impartiality. She emphasized the importance of fairness, and reminded them to “wear human face” in their decision-making processes, ensuring that there is no room for victimization.
