Leadership Tussle: Association Reject Anambra Assembly Resolution

The Association of Trans-Nkisi Land Allottees has firmly rejected a resolution passed by the Anambra State House of Assembly regarding a controversial leadership tussle in the area.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the Onitsha based association at a recent emergency meeting held at the association’s hall complex, the incumbent Chairman, Chief Onyebuchi Ndulue, described how, on Wednesday, their premises were stormed by a group of thugs accompanied by police officers, naval personnel, and vigilantee members, allegedly acting on the orders of a certain people.

According to Chief Ndulue, the group claimed they were enforcing a new House of Assembly resolution granting control of the layout to a self-proclaimed “Landlord Association.”

Chief Ndulue noted that there is no recognized Landlord Association in Trans-Nkisi and stated firmly that the layout was allocated by the government to the allottees and remains the legitimate body overseeing it.

Backing his claim, Chief Chukwumereije Ekebuisi of Phase 3 emphasized that the entire layout Phases 1, 2, and 3 were developed and managed by the Association of Allottees, not by any external group that anyone claiming ownership under any so-called Landlord Association is misleading the public, calling on the House of Assembly to revisit the case.

Also speaking, Chief Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu of phase 2 expressed disappointment over the incident and reaffirmed the long-standing unity and cooperation within the Allottees’ Association, expressing dismay at how some individuals planned to hijack their collective development

Other stakeholders, including Chief Ben Udeozor, Sir Ejike Uche, and Chief Engineer Ike Aguanunu, among others, echoed similar sentiments, condemning the intrusion and reaffirming their support for the current leadership.

Earlier in his speech the DPO 33 Division, CSP Chukwunonso Onunkwo tasks them with tolerance and unity, promised to ensure the peace and harmony of the area

The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote of confidence in Chief Ndulue’s leadership and a tour of ongoing road construction projects initiated by the Association .
