Soludo Frowns With Pace Of Work At SID Project, Gives Ultimatum To Contractors

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed his dissatisfaction with the pace of work at Solution Innovation District, (SID), Project, and urged contractors handling the project to step up their efforts.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that in a surprise visit to the ongoing construction site, Soludo, accompanied by key government officials and representatives from the contractor firm involved in the project, raised concerns over delays in construction that could hinder the project’s objectives; a building that should have been delivered by February this year.

The Governor expressed commitment to delivering the project on time for the benefit of ndị Anambra, and asked the contractors to explain why the contract should not be terminated, and the contract rewarded to another contractor.

While insisting on getting the keys to the completed project by November this year, the Governor warned that any contractor failing to meet their obligations and timelines would face immediate consequences.

“The visit aimed at assessing the project’s progress, which has been closely monitored by the state government, as the first iconic building is gradually taking root.

“The Solution Innovation District Project, also known as Africa’s Silicon Valley, is envisioned as a hub for technology and innovation, aimed at boosting Anambra State’s economy and attracting investment. Soludo remarked.

The Governor later toured other aspects of the old government house, totaling thirteen hectares, which will accommodate the SID.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, Mrs Chinwe Okoli, revealed that potential investors are already showing interest in the project, and appreciated the Governor for taking the lead in ensuring that the project comes alive.
