# The Anambra State Police Command under CP. Ikioye Orutugu has reassured ndi Anambra of unwavering commitment to restoring sanity, protecting lives and property, as well as ensuring that the state remains safe for all law-abiding residents.
Briefing journalists on the command’s efforts at tackling cultism, drug abuse and other unacceptable societal issues, the Anambra State Police Command expressed deep concern over the increasing cases of moral decay in the society, particularly among the youth in the age bracket of 18 to 26 years, saying that despite successes recorded in the past, disturbing trends such as cultism and fake kidnapping incidents continue to surface.
According to the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, during the briefing, the command, sometime ago, arrested a young lady who conspired with her boyfriend to stage her own kidnapping, and extorted three million naira from her parents after ten million naira that was initially demanded by the girl and her boyfriend.
# As the November 8th 2025 election draws near, the Governorship candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma says if elected, he will be a responsive and responsible.
Chukwuma, who stated this at a media parley in Umueri, Anambra East Council Area on Monday, maintained that he will at every point in time ensure that power belongs to ndi Anambra.
The YPP governorship Candidate reassured that he will liberate Anambra from the current heat of insecurity pervading all nooks and crannies in the state of elected.
He described the present insecurity in Anambra as the most pressing challenge confronting the state.
# The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) during its 19th meeting, at the Light House, Awka, says new projects will continue to be awarded based on their strategic and economic significance, and on the areas with the highest needs.
ANSEC reveals maintained that no new project should be initiated for the sake of the election season, as was the custom in the past.

# Youth of Anambra State under the auspeices of Blazing Generation Initiative (BGI) have asserted their readiness and committment towards fostering a livable and prosperous society.
BGI at Eagles Assembly held in Awka, Anambra State capital, affirmed their desire to raise a breed of change agents, informed and refined youths to take the baton of leadership and champion transformation in their sphere of influence.
Speaking at the conference, the Convener, Comrade Arizechukwu Anaegbunam disclosed that the event was anchored on bringing about revitalisation, rehabilitation, revamping and redirection of the minds of the younger generation, which according to him, wields the beacon of hope for a better tomorrow.
# The Anambra State Government has approved several contracts for key infrastructure projects aimed at improving the lives of its citizens.
Among the notable projects is the dualisation of the Ekwulobia-Ufuma Road, a significant infrastructure development that will enhance connectivity and facilitate economic growth in the state.
# The Governorship candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Sir. Paul Chukwuma has condemned the ongoing campaign of calumny and mudslinging in Anambra State, noting that he was more interested in marketing his manifesto to the populace, who according to him, have equally assured him of their votes on November 8.
Speaking to journalists Chukwuma said It is so unfortunate that the politics in Anambra State is descending so low. But I am not interested on non issue based campaigns.
“I am paying attention on issues that are at stake on this election. I am more interested in explaining to Anambra people what I intend to do differently.
“I am more concerned with informing them why I want to serve the State. I am more interested in telling Ndi Anambra the economic and social ecosystem I will fix when I come onboard.
“My concern is the source of funding and several disruptive social changes I intend to bring to ndi Anambra upon my inauguration as governor on March 17, 2026,” he reassured.
# An industrialist and former governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief. Valentine Ozigbo, enjoined Anambra youth to seek the face of God as well as conduct adequate research before following anyone as a mentor.
Speaking in Awka, Ozigbo, who argued that some leaders find it difficult to appreciate smart people following them as mentees, stressed that emotional intelligence would equally help the youth to succeed because it was a master key to unlock resilience for effective leadership and lasting success in all sphere of life.
“Seek Him first and every other things will be added unto you. To find a mentor, do it yourself. Conduct research to find out those with leadership traits you want. Do not wait for them to find you. Learn from their experiences, pick those things you want to learn from them and move on to effect the desired change in society.
“Why are people looking down upon us? What is the excuse? There is no excuse in life if you want to succeed. It is important to be focused. You can learn from others experience. I have been insulted and humiliated but I have never allowed that to wear me down. Always remember that hard work pays,” he stated.
# The Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Worldwide Organisation for Women (WOW) Africa, Chief Mrs. Carol Ugochukwu, has expressed optimism that the 2025 WOW Leadership Programme has raised new set of future leadership, who will contribute significantly to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs in Nigeria.
Chief Ugochukwu speaking at the recently-concluded annual programme, charged participants mainly students not to allow the fire that has been lit in them go dim.
The CEO who delivered a virtual message, expressed joy that the programme, birthed in 2022, continues to grow in scope and quality.
In a message to the occasion, Executive Director, WOW Africa, Mrs Amaka Akudinobi, described sustainable learning as critical to the achievement of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals due by 2030.
