# Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has commissioned the thirteen kilometer Nzam road, a project that has been jinxed under successive governments.

Anambra West Local Government Headquarter in Nzam had been existing without a motorable road since creation.

Prof. Soludo in his remarks pointed out that the road is a campaign promise which is now fulfilled.

The Governor noted that the promise is in line with the identity of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, as a party that enthrones a government of empathy and compassion.

Soludo emphasized that his government is on a mission of transformation and development to reach those who have been left behind and abandoned.

Governor Soludo also commissioned the administrative block built by his administration inside the premises of the local government headquarters.

# The Anambra State House of Assembly has charged the Chairman of Onitsha South LGA, Hon. Emeka Orji to desist from encroaching on people’s property in the area, particularly the one belonging to Sir. Uchenna Uzoeto.

In a Press Conference at the Assembly Complex Awka, the Chairman House Committee on Public Petitions, Barr. Obi Nweke, said after investigation, they found that the Mayor erred by encroaching on SirBest land, which can only be done by the State Governor for overriding public interest.

According to Nweke, the matter is not in any court in Nigeria and was not tried, at any point, by a court of competent jurisdiction.

“Sir Best petitioned the House that Onitsha South Mayor, Mr Emeka Orji encroached on his property at No 39 Silas Works Fegge Onitsha. Although the Committee summoned them, it is trite to note that the House cannot entertain any matter that is subjudice. The matter is neither in any court in Nigeria, nor has it been litigated upon in the past.

Barr Obi Nweke therefore challenged the Mayor to present valid documents to prove that the property actually belong to him and that the matter is subjudicious.

# Obosi United FC will battle Anambra Rovers FC in the opening match of the maiden edition of the Anambra State Football League bankrolled by Akubudike Energy Ltd and organized by the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA).

The opening fixture of the competition is expected to hold on Sunday, 21st September, 2025 at the Eziowelle Civic center field beginning by 3pm.

The draws ceremony which was held on Wednesday, 17th September, 2025 at the ANSFA Secretariat shows that 24 teams will jostle for honours in the football fiesta worth over four million naira in prize monies.

In his remarks during the draws’ ceremony, Chairman of ANSFA, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi ‘D’General’ commended the MD/CEO of Akubudike Energy Ltd, Chief Jim Martin Nwabueze for bankrolling the maiden edition of the Anambra State Football League which will aid the growth of grassroots football in the state and enhance harnessing of football talents in every nooks and crannies of the state.

Chief Iloenyosi charged the participating teams to ensure they abide by the rules and regulations of the game during the course of the competition while assuring them that the ANSFA will ensure a hitch free competition in line with football ethos.

On his part, the Secretary of ANSFA, Mr. Ralph Nweke who inundated the teams on the rules of the competition called on participating teams to ensure that their playing personnel and fans exhibit spirit of sportsmanship during the tournament.

# Pineleaf Estates and Homes Ltd, Director, Head of Operations, Chief Engr. Dr Chukwugozie Nzekwesi has held a survival party expressing his gratitude to God for sparing his life after a ghastly motor accident that left his vehicle damaged beyond repair.

Reflecting on the accident Nzekwesi said that it was only by the Almighty God’s mercies that he came out alive unscathed after his somersaulted severally in a car crash.

# In a strategic political maneuver aimed at bolstering party outreach, the Mayor of Idemili South LGA, Dr. Mrs. Amaka Obi hosted Barr Ezeokenwa Sly, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), at the Idemili South Local Government Area Secretariat in Ojoto, Anambra State.

This pivotal visit underscores APGA’s concerted effort to fortify grassroots empowerment and foster inclusive governance in Anambra State, thereby solidifying the party’s bond with local constituents.

Key officials of Idemili South Local Government Area were present during the visit, including the Head of Local Government Administration, the Secretary, the Head of Department of Works, the Head of Department of Education, among others.

# The Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA), Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi paid a courtesy visit to the former Vice-president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and erstwhile Chairman of the ANSFA, Chief Mike Umeh at his palatial home.

The visit by the ANSFA Boss is part of his drive towards interfacing with top football administrators and ex-professional footballers in the state and beyond in accelerating football growth in Anambra State.

In his remarks during the visit, Chief Mike Umeh thanked Chief Iloenyosi for his vision, laudable programmes and activities in the state geared towards taking football development to the next level.

Chief Umeh admonished the ANSFA Boss to remain focused on the task of achieving his set goals and ambition for football growth in the state, the zone and the country at large.

The former NFF Vice-president reminded Chief Iloenyosi that there will be criticisms of his administration but he should remain focused and committed to the task of raising the state’s profile through the instrumentality of football. He called on Anambra football stakeholders to give Iloenyosi all the support in taking the beautiful game to the next level in the state.

# The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Anambra chapter has set up a seven man disciplinary committee.

The disciplinary committee which was inaugurated in Awka on Thursday had Chief Odili Ojukwu as chairman and Mr Obinna Ogugua as secretary.

Other were Mrs Uju Edochie, Deputy Chairman, Mr Chris Maduagwu, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu, member, ⁠Chief Casmir Ilechukwu member and Chief Okechukwu Ekemezie, member.

In his remarks, Chairman of PDP in Anambra, Mr. Chidi Chidebe said the committee was charged with the responsibility of upholding discipline and ensuring adherence to the Constitution, rules, and regulations of the PDP.

Chidebe said it was to also investigate allegations of misconduct, anti-party activities, or actions capable of bringing the Party into disrepute as well as recommend appropriate measures or sanctions in accordance with the PDP Constitution.

The party Chairman maintained that
based on its findings, the committee could make recommendations including sanctions such as reprimand, suspension or expulsion to the SWC for approval.

He charged members of the disciplinary committee to discharge the duty with utmost integrity, impartiality, confidentiality, and dedication to the ideals of PDP.

# As the November 8th 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election draw nearer, the women leaders from seven communities in idemili South local government area, have re-affirmed their commitment to re-election of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The Mayor maintained that Governor Soludo has given women opportunities to contribute their quota to the growth and development of the state.

Dr. Obi noted that the State government has been women-friendly, adding that Anambra First Lady, Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo had been empowering women with different skills

The local government boss urged them to take the message of Mr. Governor’s massive infrastructural projects to every nook and crannies in their wards.
