# Commercial motorcyclists in Anambra State have thrown their weight behind Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election.
Chairman of the motorcyclists under the umbrella of Motorcycle Transport Welfare Association, Comrade Jude Udegbe said the endorsement was in reciprocity for not placing ban on their operations.
“We resolved to vote for Governor Soludo to run for his second tenure to pay him back for not banning us
“Past Governors in Anambra tampered with our operations, with attempts to ban Okada business in the entire State. Udegbe said.
# The United Nations Peace and Positive Living Awareness Centre, UN-PEPOLAC, under the United Nations Economic and Social Council, has commemorated the September 21st World Peace Day in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
Welcoming participants at the event which has its theme as; “Act now for a peaceful world”, the Coordinator of UN-PEPOLAC, Dr. Ozioma Ozoemena, noted that peace is imperative for a progressive world, and appreciated the Anambra State Government for championing Peace Building and Conflict Management Agency law sponsored by the organization, calling for its full implementation.
Dr. Ozoemena, a member of the clergy, also used the opportunity to call for support in the building of a peace center at Agu Awka to promote the course of peace.
# Ahead Anambra governorship election on November 8th, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has called on the residents of Idemili North to address the paradox of low voter turnout in the region .
Soludo while speaking at an endorsement rally for himself and a welcome event for Mr. Ifeanyi Ibezi, the Governor pointed out that despite having the highest number of registered voters in the state, Idemili North consistently sees low participation in elections.
The Governor welcomed Chief Ibezi back to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), highlighting it as a sign that APGA serves as the platform for progressives throughout Anambra.
He noted the unprecedented level of engagement from various communities and groups in the gubernatorial campaign.
# The Chairman of Njikoka LGA, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, through his representative, Hon. Afoma Okpala, the Supervisory Councillor for Health; led a team to donate essential medical equipment to the Primary Health Centres in Abba Ward 1 and Ward 2.
The donation, is part of the Solution Government’s commitment to improving primary healthcare delivery in Anambra State.
The items facilitated by the Anambra State Government under the leadership of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo included a wide range of medical tools and equipment aimed at strengthening healthcare services and ensuring that residents receive timely and quality medical attention.
# Mr. Ifeanyi Ibezi has endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo as the leader of progressives in Anambra.
Also speaking at an endorsement rally, the Mayor of Idemili North, Mr. Stanley Nkwoka, Mayor of Idemili South, Mrs. Amaka Obi, Chief Okey Muoaro, Dr. Law Mefor, Chief Tony Onyima, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, all emphasizing their united front within the APGA to secure the upcoming election.
# Anambra Government, through the Ministry of Justice, has launched an online register of sex offenders in the state.
Speaking at the Ministry of Justice, Jerome Udorji State Secretariat Awka, during the launch, the Anambra State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Sylvia Ifemeje, said the online register for sex offenders is a strategy aimed at fighting the upsurge in cases of rape and defilement in the state.
The Justice Commissioner explained that naming and shaming convicted sex offenders may deter future offenders and reduce the rate of defilement in the state.
In his remark, the Traditional Ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Dr Joel Egwuonwu, reiterated his total commitment towards eradicating criminality, especially cases of sexual and gender-based violence, SGBV, within his community, and urged other Traditional Rulers to follow suit.

# As part of activities to commemorate the 2025 International Day of Peace/Peaceful Anambra Governorship Election, Rotary International District 9142 Awka branch and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide have stressed the need for a peaceful November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
They stated this at a peace awareness walk, organized by Anambra Peace and Mediation Working Committee in partnership with Institute for Peace, Security and Development Studies, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka,
The peace day, celebrated annually on September. 21 is aimed at reducing violence and strengthening the ideals of peace around the world.
Anambra State Cordinator, Rotary Action Group for Peace ( RATGP) Fr. Chidi Obiudu, while speaking on this year’s theme: “Act Now For A Peaceful World”,
called on residents to conduct themselves peacefully during the voting process. He appeal to them to also sustained the already existing peace with one another, shun social vices that might make the state ungovernable after the election.
# Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has described the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the umbrella for all progressives in the state.
Soludo said APGA has never been more united and stronger than it is under his administration.
The Governor made this declaration in Abatete in Idemili North at an endorsement rally for his candidacy.
The programme was also a homecoming event for Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezi, who recently joined the party.
