Evicted ‘Big Brother Naija’ contestant Bright Morgan on Tuesday accused his American girlfriend of attempting to sabotage his participation in the reality show by falsely claiming he suffered from a health issue.
In a post-eviction interview, the Nigerian housemate revealed that his partner, whom he has never met in person, contacted organizers of the popular “BBNaija” competition to demand his removal from the house.
“My American girlfriend called the organisers to evict me from the show that I have a health challenge,” Morgan said. “She wasn’t here in Nigeria, but she placed calls.”
He added that producers, who had his family’s contact details on file, promptly verified the allegation with his brother, who dismissed it outright.
“So the organisers then had [to] confirm from my family members because I dropped my family members’ phone numbers,” Morgan explained. “They contacted my brother if it was true and they said there’s nothing like that.”
Morgan, who was eliminated from the ongoing season of the franchise last week, emphasized that he would have voluntarily withdrawn had any genuine medical concerns arisen. “I mean if I ever had a problem, I would voluntarily exit the show,” he stated.
The 28-year-old entrepreneur from Lagos further disclosed that his relationship with the woman, based in the United States, only began a few months ago and remains entirely virtual. “I had never met my American girlfriend in person,” he confirmed.
“BBNaija,” a staple of Nigerian entertainment since 2006 and modeled after the international “Big Brother” format, has drawn millions of viewers each season with its mix of drama, alliances and evictions. Morgan’s early exit had already sparked speculation among fans, but the revelation adds a layer of personal intrigue to his storyline.
Organizers of the Multichoice-owned show have not commented on the incident. Morgan, known in the house for his strategic gameplay and light-hearted banter, expressed no regrets over his time inside, focusing instead on upcoming ventures outside the spotlight
