Plenary: Anambra Assembly commends Soludo For Reconstructing Onitsha Internal Roads

The Anambra State House of Assembly has applauding Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the successful reconstruction of roads in Inland Town, Onitsha, with a view to enhancing infrastructural renewal and inclusive urban development.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the House passed the resolution following a motion sponsored by the member representing Onitsha North one Constituency, Hon. Mimi Azikiwe during plenary in Awka.

In her submission, Hon. Azikiwe described the reconstruction as a historic intervention, noting that for decades, the inland communities, the ancient heartland of Onitsha’s cultural heritage had suffered severe infrastructural decay.

The lawmaker lamented that the people had long endured dilapidated and impassable roads which crippled commerce, obstructed access, and diminished quality of life.

According to Azikiwe, successive administrations, despite various initiatives, had often focused development efforts on metropolitan areas, leaving indigenous settlements marginalized in the distribution of public infrastructure.
