# Members of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, ABS chapter, have endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for second term to enable him continue with his good works in the state.

They made this known during their October monthly meeting at the headquarters of the establishment, Arroma junction, Awka.

Speaking through their Chairman, Engineer Bonny Ezeani, the union said that having witnessed what the Governor is doing in terms of infrastructural development, employment of over eight thousand teachers, employment of health personnel, free education, free antenatal and free delivery, massive road construction, among others, it will be good for him to come back after November 8 to continue with what he is doing, appreciating him for working his talks.

While thanking the Governor for cash award of ten thousand naira he approved for pensioners across the state, thereby reducing the plight of pensioners, the ABS pensioners appealed to him to also facilitate payment of the ten thousand naira grant to pensioners in ABS; as according to them, they are the only people that are not receiving the money up till now.

Also speaking, another member of the union, Mr Tony Ilozumba, who retired as a Director in the News and Current Affairs Department of the ABS, pleaded with the Governor to help offset the arrears of gratuity owed them since 2017.

Mr Ilozumba also commended the Governor for keeping to his promise of paying every one that retired under his watch his or gratuity, appealing to him to extend the gesture to retirees in ABS.

Members of the union unanimously pronounced Governor Soludo as their candidate in the November 8 governorship election in the state.

# A prominent political group in Anambra North senatorial zone, Anambra North Political Movement (ANPM) endorsed Sir Paul Chukwuma, the Governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP and pledged to fully work for his emergence as the next governor of Anambra State.

The group’s coordinator, Comrade Chinedu Ekweoba, stressed that as of today, Sir Paul Chukwuma, the YPP’s governorship candidate, is the best choice for Ndi Anambra because he is the most competent contender in the race.

In response, Sir Paul Chukwuma thanked the group and gifted their coordinators motorcycles to assist with their mobilization exercises.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commended corps members of the 2025 Batch B Stream II for their colourful display of Nigeria’s cultural diversity during the NYSC Carnival Day held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South LGA.

Represented by the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Hon. Don Onyeji, the Governor urged the corps members to immerse themselves in the rich traditions and innovative spirit of the Anambra people. He described the state as a secure and fertile ground for entrepreneurship, creativity, and cultural exchange.

The event began with the traditional blessing of the kolanut by HRH Igwe Engr. Joel Egwuonwu, traditional ruler of Umuawulu, symbolizing unity and peace among the participants.

In her address, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, commended corps members and officials for their dedication and creativity. She said the Carnival underscores NYSC’s vision of promoting peace, unity, and national integration through cultural celebration.

# Umueri, acclaimed cradle of the Igbo race in the world was the cynosure of the 2025 Omambala Day Celebration held at the Otuocha township stadium, Otuocha Anambra-East LGA of the state.

The historic event was the first of its kind, after many decades of disintegrations was indeed a veritable platform for reunion, restoration and reinforcement of the region through such convivial atmosphere.

The epic cultural carnival which brought communities of the six LGA’s that constituted the Omambala region showcased the rich traditions and ancestry of Anambra-East, Anambra-West, Ayamelum, Awka-North, Dunukofia and Oyi council areas as masquerades displayed esoteric dance steps while various cultural groups entertained the mammoth crowd with gusto and enthusiasm.

Speaking, the President-General of Umueri General Assembly, Dr. John Metchie, Onowu-ASATU and a host of others, said Umueri is indeed the custodian of the Igbo culture and traditions because it still observed the Igbo calendar governed by the four market days of Orie, Afor, Nkwo and Eke respectively.

# The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, joined stakeholders, leaders, and supporters of the party at the residence of Patrick Nwankwo Ikwueto, SAN, for the Orumba for Soludo Movement—a solidarity gathering in support of the second-term re-election bid of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

Speaking, Barr. Ezeokenwa commended the unity and enthusiasm of the people of Orumba, describing their show of solidarity as a testament to the governor’s far-reaching impact on governance and development. He noted that under Soludo’s watch, Anambra State has witnessed a silent revolution across critical sectors including infrastructure, education, health, security, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

According to Ezeokenwa, “APGA is poised to win all 5,720 polling units in Anambra State because the party stands firmly on performance, not promises. Governor Soludo’s emergence as a consensus candidate is not just a political decision—it is a referendum on his transformational achievements.”

# The Member Representing Anaocha Two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu, said they decided to return Governor Chukwuma Soludo so he can continue, complete, and begin more transformational projects in the state.

Also speaking at Anaocha Council Area Headquarters, Neni during a meeting of all serving and past House of Assembly members, Commissioners, past Chairmen, Secretaries, Councillors and government appointees from the LGA, Chief Oggorchukwu Egolu moved the motion for endorsement and was seconded by Hon. Osita Ozalagba, while two past Chairmen of the council area, Mr Patrick Onyedum and Mr Ikeobi Ejiofor, commended the Mayor of Anaocha for his mission to build a greater Anaocha.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has advanced Public-Private Community Partnership as the winning strategy to accelerate the pace of development in Nigeria.

The Governor, who was speaking during the commissioning of the newly renovated block of classrooms at St Jude’s Secondary School, Ihiala executed by Keystone Bank Educational Support Initiative, said that non of the sectors can do it alone.

Soludo added that education is the barrier breaker and public education is the easiest way to break the barrier, pointed out that public education in Anambra is significantly growing and called on public spirited individuals and organizations to imitate Keystone Bank, to create a more equitable, just society.

Also speaking, Anambra Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh revealed that due to the Governor’s unprecedented achievements and education policies in the past three and half years, Anambra has become the state with the least out-of-school children and appreciated Keystone Bank for the support.

The Chairman, Board of Directors of Keystone Bank, Lady Ada Chukwudozie and the Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Imam Hassan said that the project is a seed of hope, inspired by the Governor’s vision for education in the state.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expression gratitude, thanking the people of Orumba for their overwhelming show of love, unity, and confidence in his leadership.

Speaking at the residence of Patrick Nwankwo Ikwueto, SAN, for the Orumba for Soludo Movement, a solidarity gathering in support of the second-term re-election bid of the Governor, Soludo described the gathering as deeply inspiring and reaffirmed his commitment to continue delivering good governance, people-oriented projects, and sustainable development across Anambra State.

The Governor emphasized that the endorsement by Orumba stakeholders reflects a collective understanding that the Solution administration represents progress, accountability, and the future Anambra deserves.
