# The Managing Director of Rojenny Stadium and Games villages, Oba in Idemili LGA of Anambra, Rommy Ezeonwuka has been nominated for an award for his contributions to sports development in Nigeria.
This was contained in a Statement issued by SWAN @60 Media and Publicity Committee and signed by Chimezie Anaso and Hembadoon Orsar, Chairman and Secretary respectively on Monday.
A letter of nomination signed by Ikenna Okonkwo Secretary General of SWAN said Anosike was nominated for his contributions to the development of sports in Nigeria and Southeast in particular.
# The traditional ruler of Obosi kingdom, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Eze Iweka III), has described the Obosi town’s celebration of Obiora/Iwaji festival as not only the celebration of a new yam festival but also the celebration of a period of peace.
Igwe Iweka, who doubles as the chairman of the Anambra state traditional rulers’ council, made the remark before a mammoth crowd that thronged the Obosi township stadium to witness his celebration of the 2025 Obiora/Iwaji Obosi festival.
“The Obiora celebration is not only about new yam festival; but it is, also, about peace. So when we are celebrating new yam festival; we are, also, celebrating a period of peace.
“So before thinking about engaging in a fight, think about the fine you will pay for fighting,” Igwe Iweka said.
# It was a day filled with excitement as the Soludo Re-election Campaign Team visited Egbengwu, Nimo Ward IV.
The people of Egbengwu came out in large numbers to show strong support for Prof. Soludo.
The campaign team, led by Chief Nduka Okoye, Chairman of the Njikoka Campaign Committee and APGA Vice Chairman for Anambra Central, praised the people for their love and trust in Soludo’s leadership and his vision for a better Anambra.
Mayor of Njikoka LGA, Hon. Chinedu Ononiba, in his speech, encouraged the people to keep supporting Governor Soludo for more development in Njikoka and across the state.
Hon. Sir Pete Ibida in his address, also assured the team that Egbengwu is fully APGA and will continue to stand with the party.
Ward leaders, youths, and other community members promised their full support for the re-election, as Soludo’s message of progress and good governance was well received.
# The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu continued his statewide strategic engagements on election patriotism and community security awareness with visits to Ihiala Area Command and Oraifite Division.
During the engagements, the CP. interacted with some stakeholders including the President General of Ihiala Community, Commander Agunechemba Vigilante Group, the Youth Chairman, and a representative of the Local Government Chairman and officers and men of the Police Command operating in the respective jurisdictions.
In Ihiala Area Command, CP Orutugu expressed optimism about the security structural deficit, having come to an end. He commended the good people of Ihiala and Oraifite for their courage, civic responsibility, and continued cooperation with security agencies, noting that the communities have demonstrated resilience and collective resolve by refusing to allow criminal elements to influence political participation or disrupt community stability.
While in Oraifite, the CP commended the cooperation of other security agencies towards the Police in the area and reiterated that the Police cannot take the glory alone for the safety in the area. He also stated that all local Vigilantes of any kind are not part of the election security.
Orutugu reaffirmed that the Police remains committed to safeguarding lives and property and ensuring that the forthcoming November 8, 2025, Governorship Election is conducted in a peaceful, secure and credible atmosphere. He emphasized that patriotism during elections means rejecting intimidation, resisting fear-based narratives and participating freely in the democratic process.
# The Integrity Group of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter (a formidable grassroots political movement and Renewed Hope Agenda Ambassadors) has officially endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term ahead of the November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election.
The endorsement, which took place during a high-level meeting held in Awka, the state capital, had in attendance key national and state leaders of the Integrity Group.
Dr. Oke Idawene while speaking during the event, reaffirmed the group’s unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that Governor Soludo’s developmental strides and reform-driven leadership in Anambra State perfectly align with the national vision of progress, inclusion, and sustainable growth.
# The Social and Integral Development Centre (SIDEC) has called on traders across Anambra State to take active part in the forthcoming governorship election, stressing that their participation is critical to achieving a higher voter turnout.
According to SIDEC, only low turnout out of the 2.6 million registered voters participated in the 2021 governorship election, a figure the organization described as worrisomely low.
Speaking during a voter education session at Ochanja Market, Onitsha, the Executive Director of SIDEC, Mrs. Ugochi Ehiahuruike, emphasized that good governance depends on the active involvement of all citizens, not just elected leaders.
Ehiahuruike urged traders not to sit back and allow a small number of voters to determine the future of the state. “November 8, 2025 is not a day for football competition or movie marathons. It is a day to decide the destiny of Anambra State for the next four years,” she warned.
# Beneficiaries of the Solution General Hospital, Amaku free surgeries, on the commissioning of the Hospital, returned for check ups.
The visibly happy patients/clients lauded Anambra State Government for the care given to them while also allaying doubts and the disturbing lies being perpetrated by the opposition who has said that nothing is happening in the hospital.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike was on at the hospital to check on the clients and to have a first hand account of the activities of the intake and discharge of clients and the activities of the Health Workers.
While chatting with the beneficiaries on hospital beds the state health boss was told that they were recuperating fast and were being taken care of by the health workers stationed at the hospital.
The clients and their caretakers cum family members confessed that no amount of money was taken from them for the surgeries even from those that have come for surgeries days after the commissioning.
# The Chairman of Nnewi South LGA, Hon. Van-George Ezeogidi, alongside other APGA stakeholders, embarked on a grassroot campaign tour to Amichi town, in support of the re-election of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
During the visit, the Chairman called on the people of Amichi and the entire Nnewi South to come out en masse on November 8th and vote massively for APGA, describing Governor Soludo as a leader whose really deserves continuity.
He urged the people to remain committed to the APGA vision, assuring them that the party remains focused on delivering good governance, rural development, and empowerment across the state.
# The campaign train of APGA Njikoka Campaign Council moved to Ward II Abagana, drawing a large crowd of party faithful, community leaders, youth groups, and supporters.
The high point of the rally was the passionate speech delivered by the Mayor of Njikoka, Hon. Chinedu Ononiba, who praised the governor’s outstanding leadership performance and urged the people of the ward to ensure continuity in governance.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the Mayor described the governor as “a visionary leader whose record of achievements speaks louder than promises.”
Ononiba noted that under the governor’s administration, the state has witnessed remarkable progress in infrastructure, education, health care, youth empowerment, and security.
# In the quest for political mobilization ahead of gubernatorial election in the state, the APGA Njikoka Campaign Council has visited the people of Ward IV Enugwu-ukwu in Njikoka LGA with the message to ensure the re-election of Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR.
Addressing the people, Njikoka stakeholders all noted that over the past years, the administration of Governor Soludo has shown that leadership was not about noise but about action; not about promises but about results; not about self-interest but about service to the people.
They all highlighted the unequaled development of the state under Soludo’s governance, especially in the area of security, Youth empowerment, Education, Employment, Agriculture, Economic development, Healthcare and vowed to ensure the victory of Prof Soludo with wide margin.
