Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy has said his decision to remain unmarried is rooted in a desire for personal growth and readiness rather than lack of opportunity, according to media interviews.
During an interactive social-media session this week, the Mavin Records boss responded to a follower asking, “Why aren’t you married?” with the candid remark: “I dey work on myself so that when my head correct, my babe go enjoy me.” He added: “I’m not in a hurry.”
Jazzy explained that although there are many potential partners, he said he would prefer to wait until he feels fully capable of being the spouse he wants to be. “It is not difficult to find a wife… I don’t think I am there yet,” he said.
He notably referenced his earlier marriage at age 20 — which ended two years later — attributing its collapse to his devotion to his music career. “I spoilt it because I was giving all my time to my music,” he revealed.
The star suggested he fears entering into a marriage when he is not prepared, noting: “I don’t want a scenario where I get married and my music or business would take me away.”
