Politician and businessman Ned Nwoko issued a blistering public rebuttal Sunday, alleging that his wife Regina Daniels’ siblings and friends repeatedly undermined her drug rehabilitation by smuggling substances into their home and harassing staff in his absence.
In a detailed statement, Nwoko claimed he had bankrolled the actress’s brother Sammy through university, furnished him an Abuja flat and provided ₦125 million ($75,000) in allowances to their mother Rita Daniel over two years alone. Yet, he said, Sammy and others defied medical orders during Daniels’ therapy.
“The doctors gave clear instructions to restrict access, especially to her enablers,” Nwoko wrote. “Sammy, Destiny, Lawrence and friends like Sonia Uche Montana would force their way in and bring her the same drugs she was being treated for.”
He described waking at 5:00 am four weeks ago to find Daniels “clearly high” on a call, with Sammy’s girlfriend in her room — another alleged supplier. When Nwoko had the woman removed, Sammy arrived “shouting and demanding I come downstairs to face him,” forcing security to eject him.
Nwoko, a vegetarian who neither drinks nor smokes, said the group also intimidated police guards and once staged a viral video at his gate showing Daniels distressed — footage he branded “pure Nollywood” orchestrated while he was away. “They took my phone, money and other items,” he alleged.
The billionaire said he sponsored brother Lawrence’s $75,000 London master’s to escape the “toxic environment,” offering Sammy the same chance, which was refused. Sammy has since faced multiple arrests by police and the EFCC, Nwoko claimed, urging rehabilitation over continued interference.
Daniels has not responded publicly. The couple, married since 2019, share two children.
