# The Social and Integral Development Centre (SIDEC) has congratulated citizens of Anambra state for the peaceful conduct November 8, 2025 governorship election.

The organisation acknowledges and celebrates the participation of women, youths and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the process.

SIDEC commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Security Agencies, as led by the Nigeria Police, the Media and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) for their respective roles in ensuring a largely peaceful poll

In a press statement signed by its Executive Director, Ugochi Ehiahuruike, the organisation also congratulated Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor.

# The governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) at the just concluded Anambra State poll, Ozo Jeff Nweke, on Monday, said there was no case anyone could use to dispute governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election given that the exercise was credible, free and fair.

Nweke, who stated this at a press conference, explained that only known incident of violence during the poll was what transpired at Orumba South, which he has joined other stakeholders in calling on the government to investigate and prosecute offenders.

According to him, the outcome of the election indicated that people were still happy with Soludo over his developmental strides and he would love him to consolidate on that as he begins his second administration.

He, therefore, congratulated the governor and implored 14 other contestants to congratulate him as well and join hands in moving Anambra State to an enviable height.

# The Mayor of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Barr. Chijioke Ozumba has congratulated Prof Chukwuma Soludo on his resounding victory at the just-concluded governorship election.

Bar. Ozumba described Governor Soludo’s second term victory as a well-deserved reward for visionary leadership, excellent performance, and people-centered governance that have transformed Anambra within a short period.

The local government boss expressed profound gratitude to Ndi Dunukofia for coming out in their numbers to vote massively for APGA, reaffirming their trust and unwavering confidence in Soludo’s leadership.

He noted that the number of votes polled across the various polling units in Dunukofia were all overwhelming, reflecting the people’s united commitment to sustain good governance.

# Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors have been crowned the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) champions.

The Warriors clinched the title after a nerve-wracking 5-4 penalty shootout victory against the defending champions, Kebbi Beach Soccer Club (Kebbi Fisher), in a thrilling final at Jabi Lake, Abuja.

The victory marks a remarkable achievement for the Warriors, who were making only their second appearance in the final after finishing as runners-up last season.

The match was a rollercoaster of emotions. The Warriors seemed to be cruising to victory, holding a commanding 3-1 lead going into the third and final period. However, the resilient Kebbi Fisher mounted a spectacular comeback, scoring twice to level the match and force extra time.

With no goals in extra time, the destiny of the trophy was decided from the penalty spot.

# Anambra’s football Chairman, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi, has led a rousing cheer for Governor Chukwuma Soludo after his crushing victory in the just-concluded gubernatorial election.

Iloenyosi praised the governor’s “effervescent leadership and vision” that, he said, “earned him the people’s mandate.”

“We are elated and thrilled to celebrate your victory. We look forward to the continuous positive changes and progress you will bring to our homeland for Ndi Anambra.” Iloenyosi wrote.

# The candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in last Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State, Ozo Jeff Nweke, has called on his fellow contestants to accept the outcome of the poll in good faith, noting that the people of Anambra have spoken decisively through the ballot.

Nweke made the call in a congratulatory message to Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, who was declared winner of the 2025 Anambra governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning.

Addressing journalists on Monday, Nweke described the election as peaceful, credible, and a true reflection of the people’s will.

He commended Anambra voters for their maturity, discipline, and commitment to democracy, noting that the process demonstrated the political awareness of the electorate.

# The Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra State Chapter, heartily congratulates Dr. Nonye Soludo the wife of Anambra State Governor, on the resounding re-election victory

In a press release signed by Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika, Chairperson, NAWOJ, Anambra State Chapter maintained that the victory reflects the confidence and trust the people of Anambra State have in the visionary leadership of our Governor.

“We rejoice with you, the entire Soludo family and Ndi Anambra on this well-deserved victory.

“As you both continue in the service of our dear state, NAWOJ prays for divine wisdom, strength, and grace to achieve even greater milestones in this second tenure”. Ifejika stated.

# The Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim, has commended the people of Anambra State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies for conducting what he described as one of the most peaceful and credible elections in the state’s recent history.

Speaking in Awka, Archbishop Ibezim said the conduct of the election reflected a maturing democratic spirit among Anambra citizens, who demonstrated patience, discipline, and unity throughout the process.

He expressed gratitude to God for granting the state a violent-free exercise, noting that Anambra has once again proven to be a model for democratic engagement in Nigeria.

According to the Archbishop, the seamless coordination by INEC, the punctual arrival of election materials, and the professionalism displayed by security personnel helped to strengthen public confidence in the electoral system.

He noted that the enthusiasm and peaceful conduct of voters, including the youth and elderly, signaled a renewed hope for participatory governance.
