Idemili South emerged victorious at the 2025 Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo Women’s Volleyball Competition, proudly defending the championship title and winning the coveted trophy along with a ₦750,000 grand prize.
Team Njikoka LGA delivered an impressive performance, clinching the 2nd position and taking home a cash prize of ₦500,000.

the tournament, which brought together top teams from various LGAs, was a platform to showcase sporting excellence and community spirit.
In a thrilling semifinal encounter, Njikoka LGA defeated Aguata LGA, demonstrating exceptional teamwork, resilience, and tactical brilliance.
Their victory in the semifinals earned them a well-deserved spot in the finals of the prestigious tournament.
Despite their best efforts and a highly competitive display, Njikoka narrowly lost and settled for the silver position.
In her address, Mrs Soludo maintained that beyond the medals and cash prizes, the competition highlighted the importance of grassroots sports development and unity among communities.
“This outstanding performance underscores our strong commitment to the development of grassroots sports and the discovery and nurturing of young talents within the community.
“The competition provided a valuable platform for our young, talented girls to showcase their skills, confidence, and teamwork on a grand stage’. She stated.
