TikTok Star Jarvis Reveals Mother’s Illness, Fears Social Media Backlash

Popular TikTok influencer Amadou Elizabeth, known online as Jarvis, has emotionally opened up about her mother’s deteriorating health and her deep anxiety over how the situation might be portrayed or weaponised on social media, she said in a heartfelt video shared this week.

In a clip posted on Instagram by hushbobby_media on Wednesday, Jarvis became visibly emotional as she disclosed that her mother is battling an undisclosed medical condition that she says “money can’t fix,” despite her success as a content creator. “My mum is sick, and that’s my reality right now. This isn’t something money can fix,” she said.

Jarvis expressed particular concern about how social media users might react if details of her mother’s illness became widely known. “Online is crazy. Tomorrow they might video her in her condition and try to use it against me… that’s the one thing I’ve been scared of,” she added, highlighting the emotional toll of public life.

The influencer also spoke candidly about the anticipated criticism she believes could follow, with online commentators potentially questioning her role as a daughter because of her public visibility and perceived wealth. “Social media will always say, ‘Oh, why didn’t you take care of her? You have all the money, you have everything,’” she said, before affirming that faith and hope now sustain her.

In the video, Jarvis paid tribute to her mother’s tireless efforts in raising her family alone, without support from her estranged father. “I love my mom and she tried. She really tried. She fought and defended us without any father’s support,” she said.

Jarvis also shared her ongoing search for her father, whom she said stopped communicating with the family during her early childhood. The Senegalese man affectionately called her “Aminata” when she was young, she noted, but contact ceased years ago despite her attempts to reconnect, including travelling to Senegal.

“Till today, I haven’t heard from him. I’m the one searching. I’ve gone to Senegal and I’m still trying my best,” she said.
