Umeh Offers Education Support For 326 Anambra Students

The Lawmaker Representing Anambra Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Chief. Victor Umeh, has paid school fees for 326 students drawn from different parts of the constituency and beyond for this academic session.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Sen. Umeh while speaking at the event
said it was part of his effort to ensure access to education for those who desired it but lack the financial support to maximize their full potential.

The lawmaker noted that through his Foundation” Victor Umeh Education Foundation” founded in 1999, he had offered scholarship to scores of youths who performed well in their chosen field of study.

Chief Umeh disclosed that the annual scholarship program covers their school fees and all other things they needed to excel in their higher educational pursuit.

Speaking during the disbursement of the N64million to the beneficiaries at Cana House, Awka, the Presidential Candidate Of Labour party in 2023 Poll, Mr Peter Obi, described human capital development as the greatest investment.

While commending the Lawmaker for the gesture, Obi urged the citizenry to support leaders with genuine intention to empower the youth and to lift people out of poverty.

He noted that Sen Umeh has good plans for capacity building and future development of the youths to enable them contribute meaningfully to the transformative journey of the nation.

Some of the beneficiaries and stakeholders including Nkiru Igwenagu, Chinecherem Okafor, Igwe Nick Obi appreciated the Lawmaker for considering them proper to benefit from the program, adding that he has consistently demonstrated what it means to serve the people with compassion and dedication.

They lauded Umeh’s consistency in empowering his constituents.
