…, Donates ₦5 Million, Appeals for Consensus Candidacy
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Family in Nawgu community of
Dunukofia Local Government Area have collectively declared that there is no vacancy in the Mayorship, citing the outstanding performance and people-oriented leadership of the incumbent Council Chairman, Barr. Chijioke Ozumba.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that as the Anambra State Local Government elections draw closer, the Nawgu APGA Family emerged as the first community to unanimously endorse Barr. Ozumba for a second term in office, emphasizing the need for continuity and consolidation of the administration’s remarkable developmental strides across the LGA.
The endorsement ceremony, which took place at the palace of the traditional ruler of Nawgu, Igwe George Okaa-Onwuogu, on Tuesday, 20th January, 2026, witnessed a massive turnout of party members, community leaders, and stakeholders, reflecting widespread support for the Mayor’s re-election bid.
In a significant show of solidarity and confidence, the Nawgu APGA Family also donated the sum of Five Million Naira (₦5,000,000) to support Barr. Ozumba’s second-term aspiration.
Speaking at the event, the Nawgu APGA Family appealed to ndi Dunukofia to embrace unity and rally behind Barr. Ozumba as a consensus candidate in the forthcoming Mayoral election, stressing that such unity is crucial for sustained development, peace, and progress across Dunukofia Local Government Area.
Responding, the local government boss appreciated the endorsement. Ozumba assured ndi Nawgu that he will not disappoint them.
